Resident Evil 2 Remake Includes Fourth Survivor and Tofu Modes

The classic modes, meant for hardcore players, are making a return.

When Capcom announced that all game modes from the classic Resident Evil 2 would be returning for the remake, it wasn’t joking. Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi confirmed in an interview with Trusted Reviews that both the Fourth Survivor and Tofu modes would be returning in Resident Evil 2 Remake.

“Of course! Yes! Both the Fourth Survivor and Tofu modes will be included in the game,” said Hirabayashi. The Fourth Survivor mode was unlocked by beating the game with Leon and Claire with A rankings. Players would then control Hunk, an Umbrella operative, in a separate mode that involved escaping from Raccoon City Police Station.

Beating this mode six times in row in less than 2.5 hours with an A ranking would then unlock the Tofu Survivor mode. This essentially replaced Hunk with an enormous piece of Tofu, essentially as a joke. If you were a hardcore Resident Evil 2 fan, this was your badge of honour.

Resident Evil 2 Remake will be releasing on January 25th 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
