Resident Evil 3 Physical Copies Might See A Delay In Europe

The COVID-19 pandemic might lead to a hampered physical launch for the survival horror remake.

As large swathes of the world go into a lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, economies and industries across the world are being affected- and that, of course, includes the games industry as well. There’s already plenty of uncertainty over whether several upcoming games will be able to meet their intended launch deadlines, and even the games that have already wrapped up development are being affected in relatively smaller ways.

One such game is Resident Evil 3. Though the survival horror remake is due out in just over a week from now, Capcom have issued a statement on Twitter explaining that due to the restrictions being put in place by various governments across Europe, the game’s physical release might end up getting delayed- which, of course, would also include its Collector’s Editions. Though the game’s launch date remains the same, the company advises you to speak with local retailers to check on updates about the situation. You can read their full statement below.

Square Enix have also issued multiple statements in recent days over the possibility of physical retail shortages for their upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Resident Evil 3 is out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3.
