Resident Evil 3 Producer Hints Not All Recent Information About Game Is Accurate

Fabiano says to consider his comments.

Over the last week, we had a lot of news come out about the upcoming Resident Evil 3, the remake of the classic survival horror title. There was some fantastic things we learned that’s sure to make many excited, but also some disappointing things such as the lack of endings, Mercenaries mode and live action choices. But the source of much of that information seems to also be casting a degree of doubt on some of it.

When questioned about contradicting information in the upcoming issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK (issue 170, Feb 2020) where he says the multiplayer Resident Evil: Resistance is a “what if” scenario while the blurb of the magazine says it is canon, Fabiano simply says to ‘consider’ his comments. He seems to be hinting that what he said should be paid attention to more than the summary blurb. It also could imply there’s other possible errors or contradictions, though with so little to go on it’s hard to say.

Before you get too excited, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Mercenaries or live choices are actually in the game. Odds are that this canon/what if was a minor snafu that slipped passed the editor with major pieces of information most likely accurate, but it might be worth some degree of clarification from Capcom or Fabiano in the future considering this bit of muddiness. We’ll let you know when or if that happens, and you can follow all news on the game through here.
