Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem was finally revealed at the recent Summer Game Fest showcase with an incredible first trailer. It introduced us to Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak while teasing new horrors and a return to Raccoon City.
While it’s holding most details close to its chest, Capcom’s tagline for the sequel is, “Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the living,” on its official website. It also teased that fans would have to prepare to “escape death in a heart-stopping experience that will chill you to your core.”
If that weren’t enough, it’s touting this as a “new era of survival horror” and that “technological advancements” with the developer’s experience will result in a story full of “rich characters” and gameplay that’s “more immersive than ever before.”
Not much concrete information about the gameplay mechanics or what players will be doing (besides venturing to the Wrenwood Hotel as Grace to investigate a murder victim). Fortunately, more information will be revealed leading up to the launch, including at Gamescom in August, where Requiem will be playable for the first time.
Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
