Resident Evil Village Releases May 7, Also Coming To PS4 And Xbox One With Free Next Gen Upgrades

A new trailer and gameplay footage came with the announcement.

Despite not having an actual 8 in the title (or well, it kind of does, but you know what I mean), Resident Evil Village is primed to the next mainline entry in Capcom’s long running survival horror series. It will also be the second to be in first person and will continue the story that began in RE7. Now, we know when to expect it.

In the recent Resident Evil showcase, it was confirmed that Village would be coming out in May. That is a little bit later than we expected, what with previous leaks that pointed to April, but it seems that plan has changed slightly. Something that was mentioned in those same leaks was that the game would be coming to both the PS4 and Xbox One as well, along with options for few next gen upgrades, while Capcom themselves had also previously said that they were working on releases on older hardware. The announcement came with a new trailer, which you can see below.

Resident Evil Village will release across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on May 7th. The game is available for pre-order starting today. The entire plot of the game has leaked, so be cautious in the lead up.
