Returnal Runs at 4K/60 FPS With Ray Tracing on PS5

The rogue-lite shooter is out on April 30th exclusively for the console.

Housemarque’s Returnal will run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on the PS5, that too with ray tracing on. This was confirmed on PlayStation Portugal’s MODO PlayStation show. You can check it out for yourself below from 15:01 onwards.

Previous trailers pretty much confirmed that the game can run at 60 FPS. While one would assume that it has numerous graphical options like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Demon’s Souls, it seems that Housemarque has no issue leveraging the console’s hardware to its full extent. It’s already confirmed to support the DualSense’s adaptive triggers with L2 being used to aim down sights or utilize a weapon’s alt-fire mode depending on how hard it’s pressed.

Returnal is set to release on April 30th, exclusively for the PS5. It’s a rogue-lite third person shooter which sees ASTRA scout Selene trapped on the alien planet Atropos. Caught in a time loop, she seeks to escape while learning more about the planet’s mysteries and hostile wildlife.
