Returnal Trailer Showcases Different Types of Enemies

Check out the different hostile life that Selene encounters on Atropos.

Sony and Housemarque have released a new trailer for Returnal, the third-person rogue-lite shooter coming to PS5 later this month. It sees protagonist Selene going over the various threats on Atropos. Not everything has a clear and distinct purpose but everything is hostile towards her. Check it out below.

There’s the Mycomorph which can use spores to slow the player’s movement; the Titanops which lunges at you with a bladed limb; and Gorgolith, a predator in the sands that utilizes lasers, shockwaves, tail lashes and more to fight. There’s even an Automaton with machine guns and claws that will assault the player and Ixion, “sentient” that’s been corrupted.

However, perhaps most surprising is the foe at the end of the trailer. We won’t spoil it but it should add even more intriguing twists to the story. Returnal is out on April 30th for PlayStation 5 and recently went gold. Stay tuned for more details on it in the coming weeks.
