Rockstar threatened to sue Frank Darabont over ‘LA Noir’

This was expected.

You know how publishers are very careful about their IPs? That’s exactly what happened when the Shawshank Redemption director was going to name his upcoming TV show ‘LA Noir’, and as you know a certain video game from a mega publisher Rockstar has the same name.

Rockstar threatened to sue him and he listened and changed the name of the show to Lost Angels. The show stars The Walking Dead star John Bernthal.

“It was going to be called LA Noir, based on the book by John Buntin,” he told i09.

“But the video game company with the video game called LA Noire (with an e) threatened to sue the shit out of me, TNT, every company that actually ever worked in Hollywood. And they have the billions of dollars to back it up, apparently.

“So we’re changing the title, and I do believe the title is going to be Lost Angels.”

LA Noire came out last year and went on to sell 4 million copies. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
