S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chronobyl is a game that a lot of people have had their eye on for quite some time, and the fact that it looks excellent every time we see more of it has only heightened the excitement surrounding the open world survival horror FPS. Now, developer GSC Game World has released a new batch of gameplay screenshots, once again offering a glimpse of how visually impressive the game is shaping up to be. Check them out below.
The screenshots come courtesy of Wired, with the outlet recently having interviewed the developer to talk about the significant development hurdles that GSC Game World has faced behind-the-scenes. Based in Ukraine, the studio paused development on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in March of last year when the country was invaded by Russian forces in conflict that’s still brewing in the region. Development on the shooter resumed some time later, with part of GSC Game World’s development team shifting to Prague.
Speaking to Wired, lead producer Maria Grygorovych said, “t was a game about Chornobyl, which is actually located in the Kyiv region, made by a Ukrainian team before the war, and it became something incomparably bigger after the invasion started. It’s a national product now, aimed to show that Ukraine is not only exceptionally effective and brave on the battlefield, but also equally valuable in a sense of cultural legacy. Something to be shown to the world.”
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set to launch sometime this year for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
