GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl has been a long time coming, and while it was very recently delayed to December 2022, it seems as though the game will now be arriving at a later date in the future.

The Ukraine-based developer recently took to Twitter to share a video about the ongoing crisis in the country, which has been invaded by Russia and is currently under siege. The developer explains that the game’s development has been shifted to the sidelines for the time being. GSC Game World is currently working to ensure the survival of its employees and their families, which is a heart-breaking prospect, to say the least.

Unsurprisingly, the video doesn’t mention any updated release dates, but given the current situation and the original release date, fans shouldn’t expect to play the game anytime this year. Given the gravity of the situation, it goes without saying that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’s development obviously won’t – and shouldn’t – take priority right now.
