Sega has got big plans lined up for Gamescom 2019. The publisher recently sent out a press release talking about the games they’ll be bringing with them to the European gaming trade fair which goes on from August 20th to August 24th, confirming that Catherine: Full Body, Two Point Hospital, and the Sega Genesis Mini will all be at the show.
More notably though, Sega also confirmed that they will be announcing a new AAA game. Those attending the show will be “treated to a first-hand look at an all-new AAA game that has yet to be revealed to the public,” as per the publisher. We’ll find out soon what that game will be, but there’s a chance that this ends up being the new tactical first person shooter IP being developed by Total War and Alien Isolation developers Creative Assembly.
We can probably rule out a new Yakuza game, since a press conference for that is already scheduled in Japan for August 29th. A new Sonic announcement is also pretty unlikely, since 2021 is supposedly the blue hegehog’s “next big year”– a 2019 announcement might be a bit premature for that.
One thing we can take a guess at is when the announcement will be taking place. It was confirmed recently that Sega will be among the 15+ publishers who’ll be making new reveals and new announcements at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19th- this new AAA title might be what the publisher brings on that day.
Either way, stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you updated on all the new ino.
