We’ve known for a bit that some new information about the latest installment in the Yakuza series will come on August 29th, but things are heating up. Now it seems an entire press conference is being set aside with some lucky Japanese fans being able to attend.

The event will take place in the UDX Theater in Akihabara in Japan. It will be open to 30 people in the region who will be chosen via a random lottery on the official Twitter and for those who play Yakuza Online. It’s not announced exactly what will be at the conference, just that it will focus on the new game, so whether we’ll see actual footage is up in the air.

We don’t know a lot about the new Yakuza, just that it will star a new character and that the series director wants to take the series in a different direction. The series is a long standing one, with the next installment most likely hitting before March 2020. We’ll keep you updated on what ends up coming down the pipeline.
