Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Developer’s Next Game Has Been Greenlit – Rumor

There also reportedly no plans to close Ninja Theory "any time soon." Other projects in development include the experimental Project Mara.

With Ninja Theory’s long-awaited Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 out on on May 21st, studio head Dom Matthews posted a heartfelt message on Twitter thanking fans. He noted the challenges of video game development and believed the studio achieved its quest of making a title that “leaves you thinking and feeling.”

While one journey ends for Ninja Theory, another will seemingly begin soon. “Trusted sources” speaking to Jez Corden of Windows Central revealed that its next title has been greenlit. It also has Project Mara in the works, though the experimental horror game hasn’t had many updates since 2021.

On another positive note, there are reportedly no plans to close the studio “any time soon.” Granted, the closures of Arkane Austin, Tango Gameworks and Alpha Dog Studios (with Roundhouse Studios merged into ZeniMax Online Studios) came out of nowhere, even to some of the developers. While things could always change, fans can take some solace that Ninja Theory is safe (for now).

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is launching on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the recently revealed accessibility settings here. You can also watch the launch trailer featuring AURORA’s Animal Soul.
