Silent Hill 2 is Nearing the End of Development, Bloober Team Says

The remake has been in development since 2019, but when it launches is going to be entirely up to Konami, the developer says.

A number of Silent Hill games were recently announced, though Konami didn’t give much details on when any of them would launch. Even so, it certainly seemed like Silent Hill 2’s Bloober Team-developed remake was the closest to release, especially since its PC requirements have also been revealed (which is something that typically happens close to launch).

And sure enough, it sems like that is indeed the case. As reported by The Game Spoof, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babeno revealed at the recent GPW Innnovation Day in Poland that Silent Hill 2, which has been in development since 2019, is reaching the late stage of production, indicating that development is close to wrapping up, with a release seemingly being closer than many may have suspected. The development team is currently focusing on polishing the experience.

Babeno also clarified that the game’s launch date is going to be decided entirely by Konami, also suggesting that the company will be revealing more information on that front soon.

Whenever it launches, Silent Hill 2 will be available for PS5 and PC. It will be a PlayStation console exclusive for 12 months after release.
