Skate Developer Promises Console Playtests Are Coming

"We don’t have a date to share just yet, but stay tuned," Full Circle said in a recently published update.

The long-awaited next instalment in EA’s Skate franchise has been in the works at Full Circle for a while now, and though it remains to be seen how long it’ll be before it’s ready for release, it’s been abundantly clear that the game is continuing to make steady progress behind-the-scenes. A lot of that, of course, has been down to the consistent playtesting Full Circle has been doing for the game on PC- but what about console players?

Full Circle has previously said that it intends to bring Skate’s playtests to consoles as well, and in recently published update, the developer reiterated that. Though Full Circle remains unwilling to put a timeframe on when PlayStation and Xbox players will be able to get an early taste of the skateboarding title, the developer promises that console playtests are on the way.

“Yes, we are still currently only playtesting on PC but we promise console playtesting will be coming,” the developer wrote. “We don’t have a date to share just yet, but stay tuned.”

Skate is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be a free-to-play game featuring microtransactions, but Full Circle has insisted that it won’t have loot boxes or pay-to-win mechanics.
