Full Circle continues to plug away at Skate, the follow-up to Electronic Arts skating franchise. No release date is confirmed, but it is free-to-play with cross-play and cross-progression. Microtransactions seem a given but concerns flared up again with a report on Swag Bags.

Pre-alpha tests revealed to Insider Gaming recently that Swag Bags contain cosmetics and are purchasable with Stars. These are earned by completing challenges, but you can only see one item out of the five awarded. There are concerns the currency, Swag Bags or both could be monetized down the line.

Full Circle didn’t outright refute that, but it reiterated in a recent tweet that the title would not be pay-to-win. No map areas locked behind paywalls, and no paid loot boxes. So while Swag Bags and premium cosmetics may still be a thing, you won’t be paying for the former or gaining an advantage over others.

Skate is coming to PC. Stay tuned for more details on other platforms in the coming months.
