Skate’s Recent Playtest Build Also Seems to Have Leaked

Following on from a recent leak from an earlier build of the game, its most recent playtest build also seems to have leaked, with new footage emerging online.

There’s no shortage of excitement around the upcoming Skate reboot, and as more details on it continue to emerge, that excitement continues to grow. Over the last few weeks, several leaks on the game have emerged as well, including new gameplay details and footage, which, according to developer Full Circle, come from an earlier build of the game (from September 2021).

Now, however, it seems another build of the game has leaked- and a much more recent one at that. Recently, Reddit user Parzalai claimed to have gotten access to leaked version of the playtest build that EA recently made available to a limited number of players.

The user has provided a screenshot of the build’s files, and uploaded a video that shows a little over two minutes of gameplay, showing tricks, grinding, on-foot gameplay (including on-foot jumps, rolls, and more), and the like. The recent playtest build represented the game in its very early development stages, which obviously means there are a lot of blank (and missing) assets in the environments.

Recently, EA confirmed that Skate will be free-to-play game and feature microtransactions. It will also support cross-play across PC and current- and previous-gen consoles. There’s no word on when it will be out, but leaks have suggested that it could potentially be targeting Halloween 2023 launch.
