Sega has released a new teaser for the ending theme of Sonic Frontiers. Performed by Japanese band ONE OK ROCK, “Vandalize” is meant to reflect the “vast gameplay environment” and the “high-speed action” that fans can expect.
In a press release, lead vocalist Taka said, “We partnered with SEGA on Sonic Frontiers because we relate to Sonic and how he’s taken on the world after getting his start in Japan. We are based in the United States and have performed in Europe, Asia, and South America, so we are extremely happy to be able to work with the world-renowned Sonic.
“This collaborative song, ‘Vandalize,’ is very upbeat and has some Japanese-inspired melodies while also sounding like a ONE OK ROCK song. It also matches the cool image of Sonic and his speed when he’s running, so please enjoy ‘Vandalize’ along with Sonic as he speeds across Sonic Frontiers.”
A 30-second TV commercial with the theme and “special interview” with the band have also been released. Check them all out below.
Sonic Frontiers is out on November 8th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It serves as a departure from previous titles as Sonic the Hedgehog explores the open-world environments of the Starfall Islands. Thus far, two islands have been showcased – the grassy Kronos Island and the more arid Ares Island.
