Sega’s Sonic Frontiers is out this November and brings the iconic hedgehog into a new open-world setting. Thus far, we’ve only seen Kronos Island, which is part of the Starfall Islands archipelago. In some new gameplay from IGN, Ares Island is showcased along with different combat scenarios and exploration. Check it out below.
Compared to Kronos Island, Ares Island is pretty arid with rock formations and lots of sand. Sonic also battles a larger, boss-like foe, which highlights many of his different abilities (including one that bounces him off the enclosing walls). Overall, the combat is looking pretty smooth. The remainder of the gameplay showcases a familiar Cyber Space Level, along with some more of Kronos Island.
Sonic Frontiers releases on November 8th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. For more details on Sonic’s abilities, head here and stay tuned for even more gameplay in the coming months.
