Sega announced Sonic Origins nearly a year ago, promising a collection of beloved Sonic titles in Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Sonic CD, along with “fresh content” that has yet to be detailed. At the time, the collection was given a rough 2022 launch window, but there have been next to no updates on it since then.
Recent developments, however, have suggested that that could change soon. Sonic Origins was recently handed classification rating in South Korea, leading to speculation that an announcement of its release date – or perhaps even its release itself – might be around the corner. Now, key art for Sonic Origins has also leaked via the PlayStation Network (spotted by @GBAtemp on Twitter), showcasing beloved characters from the series, and, more importantly, lending further credence to speculation that Sega might soon make an announcement related to the collection.
Currently, there’s also no word on what platforms Sonic Origins will be available for, whenever it does launch. Most likely, those details will also probably be announced in the near future.
