Since its release the PS4 has been plagued by numerous bugs regarding its online capabilities. Recently gamers have been complaining that they are being locked out of online games such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Battlefield 4 entirely. Apparently this error manifests by way of a message claiming that a PlayStation Plus subscription is required to access these games online.
Chris Own, the community manger for PlayStation was quoted on twitter earlier today:
“Anyone on #PS4 getting the message ‘You need PS Plus to play online’ There is no problem with your subscription. we are investigating ATM”
The official twitter account for Killzone commented as well, saying that they had no new news on the outage:
“Unfortunately, no news yet regarding the ongoing PSN outage. Sony engineers are currently working on a solution. We’ll keep you posted…”
Maintenance on the PlayStation network will take place today over a period of eight hours beginning at 9AM. During this period online content should still be available to players who have signed into their accounts recently enough for their info to have been cached.
