Sony: PlayStation 4 Preferred by 80 Percent of Customers in Polls

Which polls? Well...

CFO Masaru Kato recently stated in a Sony earnings call that some polls had shown how of the potential consumers interested in either next gen console, 80 percent chose the PlayStation 4 the Xbox One and Wii U. Kato stated that Sony’s showing at E3 was very positive and that as far as the polls were concerned, “This is very encouraging. And we are doing our best to secure enough chipsets and capacity to meet demand at launch.”

Now here’s the funny part: Kato neither specified which poll indicated this or who exactly had done the polling. Was he referencing a poll by Amazon, namely the first one which showed Sony completely trouncing Microsoft in consumer preference before the latter changed the Xbox One’s DRM policies?

Regardless, no one will deny that Sony has been building nothing but momentum since the initial reveal of the PS4 in February. We’ll see how it pans out when it releases in the Holiday season though, as the Xbox One releases this November.
