Star Wars Outlaws’ Toshara Takes “4-5 Minutes Nonstop” to Traverse via Speeder, Says Massive

"Once you're committed, it's a fairly large amount, and you are always going to be distracted," says creative director Julian Gerighty.

Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws went gold earlier this month after receiving several new details and gameplay from the last Ubisoft Forward. There’s even more information available courtesy of IGN’s latest preview, including how extensive one of the open-world title’s moons, Toshara, will be.

Described as a “little smaller” than Tatooine but the same size as Akiva, Toshara’s scale is measured not by how big it is but “how long in terms of traversal with the speeder it would be,” said creative director Julian Gerighty.

“[Toshara takes] four or five minutes nonstop, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but once you’re committed, it’s a fairly large amount, and you are always going to be distracted.” Gerighty also reiterated that the moon is like two to three zones from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey combined. Of course, there are also areas to explore in orbit around the planet (which IGN First will outline more of later this month).

Star Wars Outlaws launches on August 30th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. The story focuses on Kay Vess, a space scoundrel planning to conduct the biggest heist in the Outer Rim. Between criminal Syndicates and the Empire, she has her work cut out. Check out our feature for more information on Experts, enemy types and more.
