After crafting open worlds in post-apocalyptic America with The Division and a gorgeous alien planet with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, developer Massive Entertainment is soon set to take players to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars Outlaws, the first ever open world Star Wars game. And ahead of its looming launch in August, Ubisoft has confirmed that the game has gone gold.
That, of course, means that for all intents and purposes, development on Star Wars Outlaws has wrapped up, and the game is now ready to be pressed onto discs and sent out to be sold to players. Massive Entertainment will, of course, continue to work on polish and eliminating lingering bugs in the experience, but any such work from this point forward will likely come in form of pre-launch or day one patches.
Star Wars Outlaws will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 30, and will receive two expansions over the following months. As per creative director Julian Gerighty, the game’s main story will be roughly 25-30 hours long, though a completionist playthrough will be closer to 50-60 hours long.
