Assetto Corsa Rally is a name we’re sure all the rally racing enthusiasts will be familiar with. If you’re one of them, this one’s definitely a reason to cheer. Update 0.5 is out now, and it’s bringing a lot to the table.
Standing tall among the new offerings are the Loutraki and Elatia Special Stages, both of which recreate iconic tracks from the World Rally Championship’s Greece chapter. The former is all about dusty surfaces, sharp turns, and the drifts that come along with them, while the latter brings exposed rocks and deep ruts that you’re going to have to navigate alongside tight corners that could test your skills quite thoroughly.
The new tracks are a welcome addition, but they’re not all that this update is adding. There’s also online multiplayer, and the chance to create custom lobbies with up to sixteen other players in races where you get to set a variety of parameters before the checkered flag waves the lot of you into action. Your lobbies can be either private or public, depending on who you’re playing with, and there’s always the ACR lobby to go to if you’re just looking to dive into a race.
The in-game physics are also getting a detailed overhaul, with revised tire models, enhanced camber dynamics, new dynamic ideal lines on the new tracks, and a “global rebalancing pass” on all surfaces, cars, and presets. It’s quite a long list, and is sure to make this one more immersive than it already is. For a title in early access, this update’s sure to make it a very attractive option for you enthusiasts who want to test your skills against other talented drivers.
