Stardock CEO Brad Wardell believes there’s more to the Xbox One than we currently know. Ever since the Xbox One’s launch back in 2013, the console has faced criticism for its complicated eSRAM architecture which has resulted into a number of games running at a lower resolution compared to the PS4, although the situation is now getting better with each multiplatform release. However In response to whether there’s more about the console than we know, Wardell said on Twitter, “Probably. We’re always learning new possibilities with these platforms.”
Wardell also believes that PC devs should be excited for Microsoft’s GDC Showcase however he is not sure whether there is anything in store for console owners. “As a PC dev, very excited. Consoles? Not sure. I haven’t followed that as closely.” Nonetheless, there should be enough announcements about Microsoft’s upcoming API, DirectX 12 and what it can do on the hardware side. “There should be a bunch of interesting things at GDC that people should be able to guess at given what DX 12 does on the HW side.”
There are plenty of things to look forward to at this year’s Game Developers Conference so we’ll wait for more information in the coming weeks. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.
