Stardock CEO Brad Wardell has been one of the most vocal supporters of DX12 in recent months leading up to GDC, and once again he has revealed some exciting new information about his new projects and the potential of DirectX 12. First of all he revealed that they will be announcing a new game which will be utilizing DX12. The game will be showcased at many booths during GDC, including AMD and Microsoft.
The game apparently looks so good that some of Stardock’s partners insisted on seeing it live since they doubted the videos’ legitimacy. We are not sure what the game is about but he did revealed that it will support 4K resolution and initially launch on the PC. So possibly it will come to Xbox One at a later date. And yes, it will be demonstrated on current generation PC hardware and not future GPUs that are built for native DX12 support. It will be intriguing to see what this game is about once GDC kicks off today.
So what about a potential Xbox One version? Brad stated that there is nothing in the pipeline for an Xbox One version but they will be developing content for it using DX12. He was once again all praise for DX12, stating that whatever information he has been tweeting about the new API is based on what he has witnessed with the API. In short he is not blindly throwing out information. He also believes that DX12 is the new era for gaming.
Well, GDC begins today and ends this Friday so we will know more about this project soon.
Plus, we are announcing a new game that will be demoed live at the Microsoft booth, AMD booth and elsewhere. The DX12 claims Made true.

Ironically, some of our partners insisted on seeing it live bc they didn't believe the video we sent was real.

Seen so many people saying that dx12 couldn't do the things I've tweeted. But I was referring to things I've been witnessing.
