One thing that’s been just fascinating to watch over this generation of consoles is how slowly Microsoft has opened up its IPs. Once staying as Xbox One exclusives, then extending to all IPs on Xbox and PC via their Windows Store, and now with a lot of those PC versions even coming to Steam. Now more openness is coming with State of Decay 2 trucking it over to Valve’s storefront.
As announced by Undead Labs and Xbox Game Studios, the PC version of State of Decay 2 will hit Steams sometime next year. Unfortunately, that’s all the information we were given, so there’s no time frame given outside “early,” which could mean any of the first few months of the year. The PC version of the game has been available to purchase since last year via The Windows Game Store.
State of Decay 2 is available now for Xbox One and PC. The Steam version will launch in early 2020. You can also read about how much the game exceeded sales expectations through here.
