Assassin’s Creed Odyssey focuses on Alexios and Kassandra, who embark on a journey to become a Misthios and legendary Spartan. Players can travel through Greece, liberating the usual outposts, undertaking quests, and unlocking powerful new abilities. However, they can also stoke the flames of war between Athens and Sparta, culminating in a battle for either side.

Odyssey is also note-worthy for its extensive story with several decisions impacting the direction. There’s also naval combat, numerous weapons and build options, and tons of side quests to complete. Unfortunately, the event can’t be accessed by players due an issue. Ubisoft has acknowledged the same and will deploy a fix in early January 2022 (since the teams are off for the holidays). However, it will be extending the Yule Festival so players won’t have to worry about missing out.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. The upcoming Dawn of Ragnarok expansion releases on March 10th, 2022 and adds a brand new story, a new setting and fantastical powers. It will retail for $40 and isn’t included in the current Season Pass.

Pre-loads are currently available so that interested players can jump in as soon as it goes live. Set in Ancient Greece, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey follows Kassandra/Alexios as they venture through the world as a Misthios (or mercenary). As Athens and Sparta battle each other, the player must also contend with the mysterious Cult of Kosmos while learning of their true heritage and destiny.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is currently 75 percent off for PC via the Ubisoft Store and Steam so those who enjoy the free weekend can pick it up for cheap. For more details, check out our review for the base game here.

Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories is also live with this update, adding a new quest called “A Fated Encounter.” This sees Eivor venturing to the Isle of Skye following some nightmares and meeting Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Unlocking it requires having Settlement Level 4 and completing the quest “A Wise Friend.”

Other new content includes the Yule Festival which runs from December 16th to January 6th 2022, and a range of new difficulty options. Players can now set the parry timing window in combat, level scaling, aim assist and much more. You can even alter how difficult stealth is and the amount of guidance during exploration.
