Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is receiving a new Title Update next week and instead of new content or features, it focuses on data restructuring. This means it will consolidate files and reduce the overall size of the game depending on one’s platform. According to Ubisoft, this should result in “faster loading screen times, improved world data streaming, and overall runtime performance.”
However, one will need to redownload the entire game in the process. The restructuring also doesn’t apply to expansions. Here’s a quick breakdown of download sizes for each platform when going from Title Update 1.4.0 to 1.4.1:
- PC – ~78 GB
- PS4 – ~67 GB
- PS5 – ~40 GB
- Xbox One – ~62 GB
- Xbox Series X/S ~71 GB
Disc space used after installing the update for each platform as is follows:
- PC – ~77 GB
- PS4 – ~75 GB
- PS5 – ~77 GB
- Xbox One – ~63 GB
- Xbox Series X/S – ~72 GB
Xbox Series X/S is the biggest winner with this update as the game’s size is reduced by almost 44 GB. PC is next with a near 34 GB reduction while Xbox One and PS4 have their game sizes reduces by almost 30 GB. PS5 is on the lower end with its version being only 13 GB less than the older size.
