A recent alleged insider claimed lots of issue behind the scene.

Despite only coming out at the tail end of 2020, the biggest game of that year was Cyberpunk 2077. After almost a full decade of anticipation, the game came out to be a massive smash hit. Having said that, it was also a game rife with controversy. As you’re no doubt aware of, the game was a technical mess, especially the console version. I mean, it is leading to actual full blown lawsuits out here, and it’s been something to watch. There’s lots of reports and rumors flying around about the game and why it ended up in the state it did, but the developer has singled out a recent one to say it’s not true.

A few days ago an alleged employee of CD Projekt RED posted on GameFAQs. In this post, he made a lot of different claims, such as vast amounts of content that were cut, claiming that a lot of the future support would be returning that content and that the developer is internally prepping for a ‘No Man’s Sky‘ style turnaround. There’s also a lot of other stuff such as this alleged employee’s opinion on what upper management did wrong.

The official Cyberpunk Twitter account actually addressed this directly, responding to a Reddit thread that has a full breakdown of all the content from that post. They say simply that the story is not true.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia (at the time of writing this, however, the game is not available digitally on the PlayStation Store). DLC for the title is set to begin coming out early this year.

Normally we don't comment on rumors but this time we wanted to make an exception as this story is simply not true.https://t.co/JuOTY2qJbM

Presumably it will also add the same option to the PS5 as well.

We’re entering into a new generation of consoles, and I guess it’s almost fitting that at the same time we’re about to finally see the release of Cyberpunk 2077, a game that we have basically heard about for the entirety of the ending generation. Technically speaking, it’s releasing on that ending gen as there will be no native version for either PS5 or Xbox Series X/S next week when the game does launch, but there are enhancements in tow for those playing on the new machines, and today we possibly found out at least one.

As you’re probably aware by now, copies of 2077 are out in the wild. While we aren’t going to spoil anything, we promise, it does seem the game being out in the wild has given a glimpse of some potential next gen perks. Reddit user scorpo187 says he got his copy of the game early for Xbox. He says that an update has gone live already for the title, and that it helped the game’s bugs and some rough performance.

The bigger surprise though is that he says on the Xbox Series X, it also added an option for Performance and Quality modes. There were apparently pictures to prove all of this, but have since been deleted. It’s interesting because as of now, CD Projekt RED has not commented on the option being available. Presumably it will also be on the PS5, though no one has come forth to confirm it, and it’s rather up in the air if it will exist for the Series S, PS4 or Xbox One. We do have to file this under rumor for the time being considering the source, but nothing here sounds outrageous.

The game is already up for preload on Xbox systems and will be next week for PlayStation systems, with the game unlocking at various times depending on where you purchased it, which you can read about in full through here. Cyberpunk 2077 will release officially on December 10th.

Initially the DLC was to be detailed shortly before release.

It feels like we’ve been hearing about Cyberpunk 2077 in some form for about 10 years (in reality, it’s been closer to 5, but bear with me). The game is now set to finally release next month after several high profile delays. Like CD Projekt RED’s previous hit title, The Witcher 3, 2077 is also planned to have DLC and expansions after the main title releases, and you’re going to have wait until after that before you see any of it.

The game is set to have a lot of post-launch DLC, both of the free and paid type. While we knew that material had been delayed when the main game got pushed back, it was still initially planned for some of it to be unveiled just before the game’s launch. As CDPR President Adam Kiciński detailed in the most recent earnings call that they will now wait to reveal information about that until post-launch at a later date, in similar fashion to the game’s multiplayer (thanks to Seeking Alpha for transcribing).

“The initial plan was to do it before release, but after the recent delay, we decided to wait for the release to provide gamers with the game and then start talking about future projects. So, after release.”

It’s probably a wise enough strategy to just focus on getting the base game out for now, considering how long it’s been and the delays already. If the game is even remotely like their previous, there’s going to be tons of content in that as is. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release December 10th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.

The statement apparently refers to the upcoming DLC.

Cyberpunk 2077, probably the most anticipated game of the year, is making its rounds around the various rating boards. As you’d expect, it’s getting the mature ratings everywhere, which we all expected at this point. Its most recent came from the ESRB, which of course awarded it a M rating, and it’s description caught a lot of people’s attention. Mostly because it confirmed that, yes, you can edit your character’s genitals which I’m sure many will have far too much fun with.

However, there was something else in there that also caught some eyes in a different way: the mention of “in-game purchases.” This lead some to wonder if the game would have some form of microtransactions that’s we’re not aware of, yet. Fear not, it seems to just be a new policy surrounding the phrase.

Twinfinite reached out to developer CD Projekt RED who dispelled worries, saying that a relatively new policy of the ESRB is to label any games that may have expansions as having “in-game purchases.” Since we already know DLC expansions are planned for 2077, there you go. The company has actually talked about the lack of microtransactions going all the way back to 2017, so it seems nothing has changed.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release September 17th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. A reveal event called “Night City” is also scheduled to be June 11th.

The sweet ride is the highlight of this new screen.

Cyberpunk 2077 is definitely trying to capture the slick, but dirty, style that the cyberpunk genre has been known for. We’ve gotten a look and idea of what that world will look like, and today we got a nice screen that shows the slickness of it all in one smooth package that you’re going to like.

You can see the picture below. It features the male version of V standing in the background, with the Yaiba Kusanagi motorcycle taking center stage as he stares off into the city. Yaiba means blade in English, and Kusanagi means sword. Most also see the very clear inspirations from the anime classic Akira the bike gives off. That’s not quite cyberpunk, depending on how far you want to stretch the definition, but a classic in science fiction all the same. It should fit well in the garage you can get in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020.

Watch out for these games, either because of their aesthetics or sheer graphical prowess.

Another year, another swathe of incredible looking games to behold. Though a number of awesome-looking games await in 2019, there are also a fair number of graphical beauties over the horizon. Let’s take a look at 30 graphically intense and aesthetically noteworthy video games for the coming years.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2

The endless snowy roads may be gone but Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 still delivers on the details. Areas with overgrown plants and slight flooding give the impression of a concrete jungle while each Dark Zone has its own distinct identity (Protip: Don’t sniff the yellow powder). Even the little details like Seeker Mines rippling through water look simply fantastic. Expect sharp alpha effects, textures and lighting as well if the first game is anything to go by.
