The other major addition is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the last mainline title in the franchise, which further embraced the turn-based combat introduced in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Other notable additions include A Little to the Left, art of rally, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, The Exit 8, and Darkest Dungeon 2 – all playable on PS5 and PS4.

Meanwhile, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is exclusive to PS5 players. Though not the best survival horror/stealth title by any means, it could be a worthwhile experience for those who like the movies. Meanwhile, Premium subscribers, only one PlayStation Classic is coming – Ridge Racer, playable on PS5 and PS4.

It features all the usual classic features, including quick save, rewind, up-rendering, and custom filters. And really, what more can you say, other than it’s Ridge Racer? Whether you’re playing through Time Trials or battling it out against the AI in, well, Battle Mode, it’s the classic arcade racing experience that you (hopefully) know and love.

The developer has announced with a press release that Darkest Dungeon 2’s new mode Kingdoms and its Inhuman Bondage DLC will both be released on January 27. As previously confirmed, the former will be free for all players, while the latter is paid DLC.

Specifically, Kingdoms is described as a standalone, parallel game experience to the Confessions mode, and is kicking off with the first of three themed adventure modules, titled Hunger of the Beast Clan. Meanwhile, the Inhuman Bondage DLC also brings a host of new content, including a new mini-region and playable hero.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Kingdoms and Inhuman Bondage will both be available on PC only upon their launch in January, with console releases coming later.

Each module focuses on a different threat, the first introducing the Beastmen for players to deal with as they defend the realm and upgrade Inns. However, launching alongside this is a new paid DLC, Inhuman Bondage. It brings a new bonus region comparable in size to The Sluice – the Catacombs – with new enemies (described as “corrosive” and “oozing”) and items.

Available for use in Kingdoms and the base game, this region promises “high risk and high reward”, but also delivers a brand-new hero. Their identity is unknown, but they sport “unique” mechanics alongside Trinkets, palettes, weapon kits, and an origin story. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

After entering early access in 2021, Darkest Dungeon 2 fully released for PC last year, selling over half a million copies in the first week. Unlike its predecessor, players select from four heroes at the outset and explore multiple doomed regions via stagecoach en route to The Mountain. Branching paths provide an insight into each party member’s past on top of featuring encounters, random events and boss fights.

Combat is still turn-based but overhauled, featuring tokens for status effects. Check out our review of the PC version here. The developer has made several improvements and new additions since launch, but its biggest update yet, Kingdoms, is out later this year. Now, the developer has completed the set with the announcement that the game is coming to Xbox as well. A couple of weeks from now, when it launches for PlayStation consoles and Switch, Darkest Dungeon 2 will also be available for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, with pre-orders now being live for Microsoft’s consoles as well. Its expansion, The Binding Blade, will also be available.

Pre-orders are available now, with a 15 percent discount currently being offered. Those who purchase the game’s Oblivion Edition will also get the game’s DLC, The Binding Blade, in addition to the base experience.

Alongside PlayStation and Switch, the game was also rated for Xbox consoles in Brazil earlier this year, though it has yet to be officially announced for Microsoft’s consoles. The studio plans on releasing modding support for Darkest Dungeon 2 on PC in incremental stages. Each stage is set to build on top of the previous one, and players will start getting incrementally more options for modding the game as time goes on. The staggered release of the modding tools also allows the studio to take player feedback for future updates.

The first deployment of Darkest Dungeon 2‘s modding tools will focus on initial mod loading, overwriting logic, and integration with the Steam Workshop. Essentially forming a foundation for future modding tools for Darkest Dungeon 2, the initial release will allow mod creators to edit the game’s exposed CSV files where numerical gameplay data is stored.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is currently available on PC. The game is getting a console release down the line, with a PlayStation release set for July 15.

Darkest Dungeon 2 will be available on PlayStation consoles for the same price as its PC version, which is $39.99, with pre-orders live now. Players can also purchase the Oblivion Bundle, which, on top of the base game, also includes Darkest Dungeon 2’s expansion, The Binding Blade. The bundle costs $44.99.

Darkest Dungeon 2 was rated for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in Brazil in March, indicating imminent announcements. Thus far, however, Red Hook Studios hasn’t given any word on when the game will be releasing for Xbox and Switch players.

Recently, Red Hook Studios also announced Kingdoms, a new standalone campaign that will be added to Darkest Dungeon 2 as a free update sometime later this year.

Players will journey across the grueling land, gathering resources, fighting back against incursious, and defending safe haven inns, with three new enemy factions set to be introduced- The Coven, Beastmen, and Crimson Courtiers. Using the resources you gather, you will be upgrading both your heroes and your inns, while you can also expect to jump into new, “extensive” upgrade trees.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is currently available only on PC, though if a recent age rating in Brazil is anything to go by, it might soon be headed to PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch as well.

Almost a year prior to Darkest Dungeon 2’s full release, developer Red Hook Studios confirmed that it would be coming to consoles at a later date. A launch date or window was never confirmed, but it seems like Darkest Dungeon 2 is headed to a launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in the near future. That’s based on the game being rated for those platforms in Brazil, as caught by Gematsu on Twitter.

Of course, this isn’t concrete evidence that Darkest Dungeon 2 is getting its console ports soon, but age ratings generally tend to come relatively close to launch, especially for games that have already released on other platforms, so there’s a good chance that this ends up getting announced soon. Or so we hope, at any rate.
