Darkest Dungeon 2

Darkest Dungeon 2, the sequel to one of the most brutal dungeon crawlers out there, is now in early access on the Epic Games Store. Players can play the first of five Acts in its story along utilizing nine different classes. These include classics like the Man at Arms, Grave Robber and Jester along with new additions like the Runaway.

Things have changed quite a bit from the earlier title. Instead of preparing to run through randomly generated dungeons and deploying different groups of heroes, players now only have one squad of four. They’ll navigate through the world and complete different encounters, earning Trinkets to augment their abilities. Heroes can form bonds, which confers different benefits, but distrust can brew and Stress is also a factor.

Once your heroes die – and they will die – you can start a new run to upgrade their stage coach, earn new skills and much more. Along with major changes to the combat system (with Tokens for block and evasion that are consumed on use), Darkest Dungeon 2 also sports a gorgeous new art style and visuals. Head here to see it in action.
