Starring Norman Reedus as Sam “Porter” Bridges, the story sees the player venturing across the post-apocalyptic United States to reconnect its cities to the Chiral Network. The Director’s Cut adds several new features, including new exoskeletons, a new weapon, and even some stealth-focused content. PC players on the Microsoft Store can look forward to Ultrawide screen support and high frame rates.

The official announcement is reportedly coming today, so keep your eyes peeled (though it’s unknown whether this is the base game or the Director’s Cut). How exactly could the developer release the game on Game Pass, especially when it’s an exclusive title for Sony’s PlayStation consoles? The answer lies in the PC version. 505 Games is responsible for publishing the PC version on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Kojima Productions is also reportedly working on a new horror title, Overdose, starring Death Stranding’s Margaret Qualley. Director Hideo Kojima teased working on a new trailer recently so there may be an announcement in the coming days (possibly at Gamescom Opening Night Live).

Death Stranding Director’s Cut adds a new weapon, the Maser Gun, which is good for non-lethal kills; a Firing Range to practice with weapons and partake in ranked trials; and the Fragile Circuit to race on a proper course. The new tools include the Buddy Bot which can carry cargo or Sam himself to a destination. There are also ramps for jumping off of and performing tricks along with the Cargo Catapult for shooting packages over extended distances.

Eight new tracks have been added to the music player along with the ability to battle previous bosses again.

The new Maser Gun has also been added along with some new missions that encourage a stealthy approach. Death Stranding Director’s Cut launches on March 30th for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. But that’s not all – existing players can also transfer their save progress over to the Director’s Cut. More details on the same will be provided closer to release though. Finally, the publisher announced the minimum and recommended PC requirements – check them out below. They’re fairly modest overall but you’ll still need 80 GB of available storage space.

However, there are already several questions from those who own the base game. Will they be able to avail of a paid upgrade option, much like PS4 owners could for the PS5 version? 505 Games’ global community director Antonela Pounder didn’t confirm this in the most recent Steam post but more details are coming this month.

There’s also the rumored Xbox game that the company is working on for Microsoft (not to mention rumors of a new Silent Hill game funded by Sony).

In addition to all of the new content and features, the PC version will feature a High Frame Rate Mode and Ultrawide monitor support. Photo Mode is also included along with crossover content for Valve’s Half-Life series and CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077. Everyone who purchases the game will also receive the following bonuses:

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is already available for PS5 but PS4 owners could upgrade for $10 to the Digital Deluxe Edition of the same. It remains to be seen whether current owners of the base PC version will be able to avail of a similar offer.

Along with Performance and Fidelity modes, the PS5 title included new tools like the Buddy Bot which can either carry Sam or deliver cargo autonomously and the Cargo Launcher, which can safely shoot items over a large distance. New story content taking place in the Ruined Factory, a firing range for testing out weapons, and a new gun that can stun enemies have also been added.
