Given the reputation and legacy of Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions, it goes without saying that people are anxiously waiting to find out what the developer is going to be working on next. Whatever that turns out to be, it seems like work on that next project will soon be kicking into gear.

Taking to Twitter, Kojima recently confirmed that in 2022, he’s going to begin development on his next project “in earnest”. Interestingly, he describes it as “a radical project”, saying that he’s looking to “move to the next level of experimentation”- which shouldn’t come as a surprise, given his track record.

Of course, what exactly Kojima Productions is working on next is anyone’s best guess at this point, though there are plenty of leaks and rumours out there about the same. Reports have suggested that Kojima will be working with Microsoft on an Xbox-exclusive cloud-based game, which is allegedly going to be a new instalment in an existing Xbox franchise.

Interestingly, leaks have also claimed that Kojima Productions is working on a Silent Hill game funded by Sony. Meanwhile, Death Stranding actor Norman Reedus also recently suggested that a sequel was “in negotiations”, while Kojima himself may also have hinted at that being in the works. Read more on that through here.

Kojima Productions recently also opened a new division dedicated to TV, film, and music.
