Hideo Kojima Might Possibly be Teasing an Upcoming Announcement

The Japanese game designer's Twitter activity suggests he has been editing a new trailer, leading to speculation of a potential reveal at Gamescom.

What Hideo Kojima and his team are working on next is always of huge interest to millions, and no that it’s been nearly three years since Kojima Productions released Death Stranding, that question is being asked with greater frequency. It seems, however, that the developer might be on the verge of announcing something soon enough.

The source of the speculation is Hideo Kojima himself, as he often is. The Japanese game designer recently took to Twitter to publish a tweet that seemed to strongly suggest that he’s finished (or at least tentatively so) editing a new trailer for… something. Kojima routinely edits new trailers for his own games, of course, but with the studio currently having no announced game out there, there’s plenty of speculation about what he could have been making a trailer for.

It’s worth remembering that Gamescom Opening Night Live is coming up later this month, and given the association between Kojima and the show’s host and producer Geoff Keighley, there’s a chance that the former has something to show there. Keighley recently also said that there will be some “cool surprises” at Gamescom Opening Night Live this year, and this would certainly quality.

Kojima Productions announced earlier this year that had it signed into an agreement with Microsoft to develop a cloud-native game exclusively for Xbox. Reports have claimed that that game is new horror title Overdose, which was leaked earlier this year but hasn’t yet been officially announced.

It also seems like Kojima Productions is also working on a sequel to Death Stranding– read more on that through here.
