Over a year ago, leaks first claimed that Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions were partnering with Microsoft for a new project to be made exclusively for Xbox under the Xbox Game Studios banner. Time and again, those leaks have claimed it’s still happening, and now, it’s been officially confirmed.

At the recent Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Hideo Kojima was in attendance- or, well, he was at least there virtually in the form of a message. It’s been confirmed that Kojima Productions will be partnering with Microsoft for its next game, which will be using Microsoft’s cloud  technology to deliver a cloud-native experience. Kojima calls it unique, and says that it’s a game he’s wanted to make for a long time.

There’s no word on what this game is, and there was no gameplay whatsoever shown off. Past leaks have claimed that it’ll be a new instalment in an existing Microsoft franchise, but that hasn’t been officially mentioned.
