It’s safe to assume that speculation on what the game will be will be running rampant until then. With Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth having released only earlier this year, the chances of the series’ next major instalment being announced might be relatively slim, though conversely, there’s a high likelihood that we instead see the announcement for Lost Judgment’s long-awaited follow-up.

It’s worth mentioning, of course, that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has been holding auditions for roles in the next Like a Dragon game. Interestingly enough, earlier this month, the developer teased that its next game was going to “surprise” people, so there’s that.

Tokyo Game Show is scheduled to run from September 26 to 29.

Speaking to Famitsu in a New Year message, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama revealed that “another big announcement” will be made at some point in 2024.

“We are very pleased to be able to release our new work Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in such a year,” Yokoyama said. “I can’t wait to see the release now, but I hope to be able to make another big announcement in 2024!”

Given the fact that Infinite Wealth still hasn’t launched, we can probably safely rule out another Like a Dragon game getting announced, and though another spinoff may very well be unveiled, that wouldn’t exactly be a “big” announcement. Might we be looking at the third Judgment game’s reveal then? After all, it has been a while since the launch of Lost Judgment.

Either way, Yakuza/Like a Dragon fans have plenty to look forward to, with the monstrous Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth set to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on

Aragami 2

The original Aragami was a surprisingly solid stealth game in a market mostly devoid of such releases, and 2021’s Aragami 2 excellently builds on those foundations to create a sequel that’s both larger and better in more aspects than one. Aragami 2 allows you to take enemies head-on with a brand new combat system, mission objectives are more varied than before, and you can also tackle the many missions with friends thanks to support for co-op – making it a dream come true for stealth game fans.

Also, when first booting on Steam Deck, FidelityFX Super Resolution is off, and FSR 2.1 is enabled. The frame rate is also set to 60 frames. Other fixes include the mini-screen in the bottom left changing when playing darts outside of a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Judgment, and its sequel, Lost Judgment, are available on Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. They launched for Steam earlier this year and have “Overwhelmingly Positive” ratings. Elden Ring

It’s easy to dismiss Elden Ring as little more than open-world Dark Souls. But it takes the sheer freedom of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and packs it with weapons, Incantations, Sorceries, armor, enemies, mini-bosses, side quests, lore and quirky characters. Elden Ring is a dense experience that goes from one spectacle to the next.

Now, it’s been made official. Sega has announced that both Judgment and Lost Judgment will be available on PC via Steam later today. The announcement is a significant one, because as per reports last year, Sega had had disagreements with Johnny and Associates, the talent agency for actor Takuya Kimura – who plays the role of Judgment protagonist Takayuki Yagami – with the agency being unwilling to let the likeness of the actor appear on PC.

With Yakuza having made its switch to turn-based JRPG gameplay permanent, Judgment and Lost Judgment, with their classic brawler gameplay, have become fan-favourites. Make sure to read our reviews for both games through the links.

Meanwhile, Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have also revealed a bunch of new upcoming Yakuza games (though the series’ name has now been changed to Like a Dragon in the West as well). These include Like a Dragon 8, action spinoff Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name starring Kazuma Kiryu, and Like a Dragon: Ishin!, which is a full remake of Yakuza Ishin. 

It’s an interesting development, especially given reports last year of Johnny and Associates, the talent agency for actor Takuya Kimura (the voice and likeness of protagonist Takayuki Yagami), disagreeing with Sega. The two allegedly couldn’t agree on the platforms the Judgment games should release on. While Sega wanted PC ports, the talent agency wasn’t so keen.

Of course, these were reports based on insider information without official confirmation. Perhaps the two parties have managed to negotiate a deal. Regardless, if you own all of the Yakuza games on PC and have been waiting to add the spin-off series to your collection, it may not be long now.

Judgment is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna and Google Stadia. Lost Judgment is available on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna.

Red Dead Redemption 2 – American Dreams Quest

While Red Dead Redemption 2 features a rapidly changing America where the law and civilization are making their way into society, acts of heinous criminal activity are still running rampant that still show the signs of the Wild West that this place once was. During their travels, players will come across some brutally murdered people with deformed corpses lying around. Upon closer inspection though, Arthur Morgan comes to the conclusion that all these are acts of a serial killer. If you use Arthur’s detective mode around here, the trails will lead you to pieces of a map. Once all map segments are collected, an American Dreams side quest is triggered which entails bringing the serial killer to justice.

However, the studio is also working on unannounced titles outside of the Yakuza and Judgment series. Further details weren’t provided but Yokoyama did state that, “We will continue to cherish the Judgement series.” A reported dispute between Sega and Johnny and Associates (the talent agency for actor Takuya Kimura, who plays Takayuki Yagami) pointed towards Lost Judgment perhaps being the last title in the series. It now seems that this may actually be the case, at least for the foreseeable future.

In the meantime, the next Yakuza title will likely be another turn-based role-playing game, based on comments from Ryu ga Gotoku Studio earlier this year. When it will launch remains to be seen so stay tuned for more details in the future.
