The trailer showcases what seems to be the whole Farming Simulator experience in VR. These include cleaning and fixing up equipment to more complex tasks like picking and selling your harvest or refuelling your tractor to better plough your farm.

Like its mainline releases, Farming Simulator VR also features machinery from manufacturers like Case IH, CLASS, John Deere and Fendt, among others. Alongside the farm, players will have a greenhouse to plant crops like eggplants and tomatoes.

While there is no word yet on whether Farming Simulator VR will be coming to PC through SteamVR or PlayStation VR2, it will be available on Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S and Pro. For more details of the latest mainline entry in the Farming Simulator franchise, check out our review of Farming Simulator 25.

On the official webpage for the Quest Pro, Meta now confirms that the device is no longer for sale, with a message on the page redirecting users to purchasing the Quest 3 “for the ultimate mixed reality experience and premium comfort.”

The Quest Pro launched worldwide in October 2022, retailing for $1,499.99. Criticism was directed at its high launch price. However, other factors, such as its mixed reality features and lack of strong early software support, were also noted as concerning. The device’s quick death isn’t a huge shock, especially with the VR market shrinking by the day.

Saber Interactive has announced MudRunner VR, the franchise’s virtual reality debut. In development for Meta Quest headsets, it will deliver the sort of off-roading simulation gameplay the series has become known for, while this time bringing you closer to the action through its in-cockpit VR gameplay. Players will be able to drive eight all-terrain vehicles across a variety of large landscapes, where you’ll also be using various tools – like winches – to aid your progress.

MudRunner VR is in development for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro, though a release date hasn’t yet been announced. The game can be wishlisted now on the Meta store. Check out its announcement trailer below.

PowerWash Simulator was first released as an early access title back in May 2021. Since then, the game has been released on various other platforms, and has seen the release of DLCs that took players from Lara Croft’s manor to Bikini Bottom, and even Final Fantasy 7‘s Midgar.

“We are continuously in awe of the impact our game has made on people,” said FuturLab CEO Kristy Rigden. “Now with a staggering 12 million players, it’s clear that there’s a desire for games like PowerWash Simulator that provide a soothing sense of satisfaction – and we intend to make them!”

Most recently, PowerWash Simulator saw the release of the Warhammer 40,000 Special Pack, which brought with it quite a few new things for players to clean, including an Ultramarines Land Raider, and a Dark Angels Redemptor Dreadnought.

The game has also seen a release away from flat screens, coming to Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro headsets back in November 2023.

Metal: Hellsinger puts players in the shoes of The Unknown, slaying demons in Hell to some appropriately heavy metal beats. The main goal of the game is to confront and defeat the Red Judge so that The Unknown can retrieve their voice. The game features 8 levels, and music from artists like System of a Down’s Serj Tankian, Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, Trivium’s Matt Heafy, and Arch enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz, among others.

The VR release of Metal: Hellsinger will maintain the game’s manic pace, and will have players jumping and shooting their way through hordes of hellspawn, using a plethora of different weapons in the process. Last year, Metal: Hellsinger also got its first paid DLC, Dream of the Beast. It is currently unknown whether this DLC will also be released for the VR release.

During the company’s recent quarterly investors call, when asked about VR platforms like the Meta Quest headsets and Apple’s recently-released Apple Vision Pro, as well as what Ubisoft’s plans are in the space going forward, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guilletmot said that the company doesn’t intent to increase its investment in VR gaming. That’s down to Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, which, according to Guillemot, is doing “okay”, but has failed to sell to the level that the company was hoping for.

“We have been a bit disappointed by what we were able to achieve on VR with Assassin’s Creed,” Guillemot said (transcribed by VGC). “It did okay, and it continues to sell, but we thought it would sell more, so we are not increasing our investment on VR at the moment, because it needs to take off.

“We have been very impressed by what Apple came up with, and we think it’s fantastic hardware, but we continue to look at this VR business as something that we have to look at but not invest too much in, until it grows enough.”

Based on Guillemot’s words, it certainly seems like Ubisoft is taking a step back from VR space, so even if we were to see the company releasing more VR experiences, they’re unlikely to be of the scale of something like Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR.

Back in 2020, Ubisoft said that it was also working on a VR Splinter Cell game, but a couple of years later, the company announced that the project had been cancelled.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR sees fan-favourite protagonists from past games returning to the limelight, and allows players to play through new memories in the lives of Ezio Auditore, Connor Kenway, and Kassandra. In the modern-day setting, you play as an elite hacker in the Assassins Brotherhood, who infiltrates Abstergo.

The game also boasts multiple open maps and free 360-degree movement, allowing freedom in exploration and navigation, while the combat is built around real-world motions for actions such as blocking, parrying, using your weapons, and more.

PowerWash Simulator VR brings with it all the content from the original release of the game, which includes more than 40 levels in total. The VR release also features the ability to play the game in co-op.

Owing to it being a VR title, PowerWash Simulator VR also has a few new exclusive features that revolve around aiding immersion in the game. Players can interact with their PowerWash van to pick out the perfect outfit and set of tools they’ll need to take on a level, for example. The game also provides players with a new tool belt which can be used to change nozzles on the tools.

The non-VR version of PowerWash Simulator is gearing up for a host of collaboration DLCs slated for release before 2023 ends. This includes a DLC featuring the Back to the Future franchise, as well as a Warhammer 40,000 DLC.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR has three playable characters – Connor from Assassin’s Creed 3, Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2 and Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. While you visit familiar locations (and some new ones like Newport for Connor), they’re approachable at 360 degrees. If you see something, you can climb it, with options like feet-to-feet jumps, throwing yourself sideways and backwards, etc.

As a stealth-focused game, you can sneak and peek around corners. However, there are cracks and holes in the environment to see through. Some objects are also dynamic and can be thrown to distract guards. The trademark whistle is also a physical gesture that you can perform to attract attention.

Combat is motion-controlled as players block attacks and create opportunities to strike enemies when they’re vulnerable. However, this will be the first time players use Kassandra’s Hidden Blade, and while sprinting, your assassination distance increases.

As this is a VR game, there are comfort features like tunnel vision, teleport locomotion, auto parkour, a vignetting system and more available. Check out the video below for more details.

Releasing this Holiday season, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR features a new story built for VR. Players can parkour across maps, realistically fight with weapons and even blend in with crowds for stealthy play. The signature Leap of Faith carries over, and Ubisoft promises that its “innovative VR functionality” will help players deal with vertigo and other issues.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR will release for Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3. Stay tuned for more details and some actual gameplay in the coming months.
