PGA Tour 2K25 and The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road round out next month's offerings, which are available until April 6th.

If you were disappointed by the rumors about PGA Tour 2K25 coming to PlayStation Plus Essential in March, take heart. Sony has officially revealed next month’s offerings and it’s joined by Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise and Slime Rancher 2, two compelling sequels in their respective genres.

Released in March 2021 for Nintendo Switch and only arriving in January 2023 for other consoles, Monster Hunter Rise is a more pared-down experience compared to World and Wilds. However, it offers the new Wirebug for getting around (and unleashing new skills), and players can also mount Palamutes to explore maps. There’s also the Rampage, a tower defense-style mission type.

Slime Rancher 2 was released last year after an extensive time in early access and serves as the follow-up to Monomi Park’s beloved farming title. Players venture to a new planet to raise slimes, which have new variants, and even uncover various new mysteries.

As for PGA Tour 2K25, it’s the latest title in 2K’s series developed by HB Studios, and offers several Championships, a new MyCareer mode, and more. Despite a solid launch, it received several egregious microtransactions shortly after, so be warned. Finally, there’s The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road, which includes the 2024 expansion and everything else before, making it a decent entry point into the MMO.

All of the above titles are available from March 3rd to April 6th. Check out February’s offerings here and redeem them while you can.

Dataminers have also discovered references to local multiplayer for Wilds, as well as a Switch 2 upgrade for Monster Hunter Rise.

While Monster Hunter Wilds has become notorious since launch for its poor performance on just about every platform, new details have emerged through datamining that indicate a potential port for Nintendo Switch 2. According to these datamines of the recent Title Update 4, numerous references to the Switch 2 have been found.

One of these references exists in a function dubbed “via.store.Native.nsw2UpgradeEdition”, where the “nsw2” is likely a reference to the Nintendo Switch 2. Along with this, a variety of other strings have been found with various references to the platform. These include local multiplayer – a major feature of Nintendo’s consoles since the DS.

To bring Monster Hunter Wilds to the Nintendo Switch 2—a console well known for being not quite as powerful as the current-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X—Capcom is seemingly implementing several performance-oriented features in the game. These apparently include a new NPC culling method, with the distance at which NPCs are culled from the rendering and the processing pipeline getting cut in half.

In a further bid to improve performance on Nintendo’s hybrid console, the spawn rate for endemic life—the smaller creatures that live in the world and contribute to its ecology—might also be getting a downgrade on the Switch 2. The datamine indicates that they will only spawn in the world at a fifth of the rate as in other versions. The datamine also noted that this isn’t necessarily a Switch 2-related feature, and could instead be meant for the upcoming January update for the PC version of the game. The title will also apparently feature new DLSS presets that will offer players more options in how the title performs.

The most recent major update for the game—Title Update 4—brought with it a host of optimisations that, while benefiting some, has still done little to fix the core performance issues for many PC players, especially for those playing the title on a system that might belong to the lower end of the recommended hardware spectrum.

Along with Wilds coming to the Switch 2, dataminers have also spotted references to a Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade for 2021’s Monster Hunter Rise. The title, originally released on the Nintendo Switch before PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, will likely receive bumps in resolution and frame rates. Capcom itself is yet to confirm any of these details, however.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For more details, check out our review.

Released in February, the newest title sold only 160,000 copies in the previous quarter compared to Rise's 254,000 sales.

Capcom’s quarterly financial results have been revealed, and if you thought Monster Hunter Wilds fumbled post-launch, it’s even worse than imagined. The latest mainline title in the action RPG series sold only 160,000 units for the quarter ending September 31st, 2025. That’s below 2021’s Monster Hunter Rise, which sold 254,000 units in the same period.

Monster Hunter Wilds initially released with a staggering 10 million+ units sold in its first month, the fastest Capcom title in history to achieve this total. However, a lackluster endgame and performance complaints, especially on PC, hampered it. This reflected in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, where it sold 477,000 units.

Capcom previously confirmed that it would “address issues” with the title “where possible” in future patches, as indicated by GPU and CPU optimizations coming with Title Update 4 in December. It also moved random Talismans from Title Update 3 (which added Omega Planetes from Final Fantasy 14) to a patch in August. Unfortunately, these moves don’t seem to have affected the bottom line, at least in the short term.

December will also see the addition of Gogmazios, the game’s first Elder Dragon. The development team has yet to confirm whether Wilds will receive a new expansion and when, but it could help boost sales. In the meantime, check out our review for the base game.

Despite selling over 10 million in its first month, it's the ninth best-selling title in the three months ending June 31st.

Capcom released its latest financial report, covering sales for the fiscal quarter ending on June 31st, 2025. Sales continue to grow for several titles, but perhaps the most notable is Monster Hunter Wilds, which sold 477,000 in those three months.

That may not sound like a big deal, but the latest flagship title in the series sold over 10 million units in its first month, becoming Capcom’s fastest-selling release ever. In its follow-up consolidated financial results, the publisher acknowledged that sales for Wilds were “soft,” but assured that its predecessor, Monster Hunter Rise, continued to see “sales growth.”

Monster Hunter Rise sold 389,000 copies in the fiscal quarter, which isn’t too shabby considering it’s a four-year-old game. However, the fact that Wilds isn’t significantly out-pacing it, and is the ninth-best-selling title of the quarter despite being the newest, is concerning. This may be due to various pending concerns, including performance issues on PC, a lackluster end-game, and more.

Stay tuned for further updates. Monster Hunter Wilds is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with its next update due on August 13th. It adds various weapon balance adjustments, a new quest difficulty level, and Talisman crafting (originally meant for Title Update 3 in September).

The acclaimed expansion launched in March 2021 and is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

While Monster Hunter Wilds broke new records for the series, older titles like Monster Hunter World and Rise continue to perform well. In fact, after announcing that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak had crossed 9.8 million sold as of March 31st, Capcom confirmed a new milestone of 10+ million sold.

Launched in March 2021, the expansion saw players going beyond Kamura into a new land. With the help of the Hunters in Elgado Outpost, they face off against the Three Lords, including the new flagship monster Malzeno, to solve the mystery of the Qurio.

Alongside a new endgame activity in Anomaly Investigations, Sunbreak introduced new Switch Skills, allowing players to swap between Skill loadouts during hunts. Each weapon type received new moves, and the introduction of Master Rank to the title meant higher-rarity armor and tougher fights.

Check out our review of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak here. It’s available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. As for Monster Hunter Wilds, its next Title Update arrives this Summer with another new monster inbound.

The recently-released Monster Hunter Wilds sits at 10.1 million units sold, while World's Iceborn expansion hits 15.2 million units.

2025 is obviously a big year for the Monster Hunter franchise, thanks to the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, but unsurprisingly, its previous releases are also continuing to sell at a steady pace. That’s as per updated sales figures provided by Capcom on its Platinum Titles page.

As of March 31, Monster Hunter Wilds has now sold a total of 28.5 million units, including sales for its Master Edition (which also includes the Iceborne expansion). That’s up from 28.1 million units as of the end of 2024. Meanwhile, Iceborne’s standalone sales now stand at 15.2 million units, up from 14.9 million units three months prior.

Monster Hunter Rise is also continuing to move numbers. It now sits at 17.1 million units sold, having added 400,000 units to its lifetime sales over the course of the January-March quarter. Meanwhile Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has crossed 9.8 million units sold, 9.4 million units.

Then there’s Monster Hunter Wilds, of course, which has sold 10.1 million units since its February release up until March 31, a marginal increase from the previously announced 10 million figure.

Capcom has also announced updated sales for Resident Evil titles. Read more on that through here.

The Monster Hunter franchise is full of brutal monsters. Here are 25 of the most challenging and why they're so nightmarish to fight.

The Monster Hunter franchise is no stranger to challenging boss fights. When your whole gameplay loop revolves around slaying monsters to craft better gear to face tougher monsters, it’s a given that some difficulties will arise. However, from the very beginning to its more recent entries, Monster Hunter has doled out some of the most arduous bosses in gaming. Without further ado, here are the top 25 most difficult monsters, starting with…

25. Safi’jiiva (Iceborne)

If Xeno’jiiva was the somewhat awkward final boss for World, then Safi’jiiva is its revenge arc. As a Siege quest, it has the same requirements as Kulve Taroth – 16 Hunters in separate groups of four, battling and breaking its parts to slay it. The difference is its sheer power and range of attacks, especially the beams, which it can fire off at a moment’s notice. It also possesses a supernova attack that, like Behemoth’s Ecliptic Meteor, recovers by running behind cover to evade. While it becomes easier as you bring more suitable weapons for breaking its parts and taking advantage of the environment, soloing Safi’jiiva is another endeavor entirely.

Here are some of the biggest changes Wilds is making over its immediate predecessor.

The Monster Hunter formula feels like it’s been honed almost to perfection at this point, but Capcom, as ever, remains in the pursuit of something better. The upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds is looking like it’s going to take the beloved series to an entirely new level, with a number of notable changes and improvements promising to continue its upward trajectory. Though Monster Hunter will obviously remain Monster Hunter at its core, Wilds is going to differ from its predecessors in some key ways courtesy of those changes and improvements. Here, we’re going to go over how the action RPG will set itself apart specifically from Monster Hunter Rise. Let’s kick things off with the basics.

SETTING

Every Monster Hunter game takes players to a completely new setting, and Wilds will be no different in that regard. While Monster Hunter Rise was set in and around the locales surrounding Kamura Village, Wilds is heading off to the Forbidden Lands, an uncharted region of the world that the Hunter’s Guild has previously never explored. Of course, this also means we’ll get a new hub location.

HUB VILLAGE

A big part of the charm pf every new Monster Hunter game is getting to explore and getting familiar with an entirely new hub village. Monster Hunter Rise’s aforementioned Kamura Village endeared itself to many with its atmosphere and Japanese-inspired architecture. Wilds, on the other hand, will include multiple villages, each in a different map. That includes Kunafa Windsong Village in the Windward Plains, Wudwud Hideout in the Scarlet Forest, and Azuz in the Oilwell Basin.

SEAMLESS TRAVEL

This is bound to be one of Monster Hunter Wilds’ biggest and most popular changes among series fans. Rise, like all of its predecessors, didn’t feature seamless maps, which meant going from your hub to a map was always separated by a load screen. With Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom is finally removing that annoyance. Now, players will be seamlessly be able to travel from a village to the wilds and back without any interruptions.

TACKLING QUESTS

Seamless traversal between the hub and the wilds will also bring some significant structural changes. Again, Monster Hunter Rise, like all previous Monster Hunter games, required players to begin every quest at the hub’s quest board, while the end of every mission would also force you to return to the village. With the virtual boundaries between the hubs and the open world maps beyond their walls now gone, however, in Monster Hunter Wilds, players will be able to begin quests simply by finding their target in the world, while you will also no longer be forced to return to the hub after finishing a mission.

NO WIREBUGS

The Wirebug was easily one of Monster Hunter Rise’s best new features. Building on Iceborne’s Clutch Claw, it evolved the core Monster Hunter loop with dual grapples that were a game-changer for combat as well as traversal. Sadly, it isn’t returning in Monster Hunter Wilds. That’s not to say it won’t have its own hookshot-style item, however…

SLINGER

The Monster Hunter faithful were divided on Rise’s decision to drop the Slinger, though those who were against the idea will be glad to know that the tool is returning. In fact, the Slinger is going to be quite an important part of the Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay loop. For starters, it’ll let you swing around similar to the Wirebug by grappling on to specific points in the environment. Beyond that, it’ll also let you trigger environmental hazards to use against monsters, and gather items from a distance (including while moving), while, of course, also serving as a fixed projectile weapon.

NO PALAMUTES

Palamutes were among Monster Hunter Rise’s most prominent new features, and they really did add a lot to the experience. Galloping around maps on a mount was consistently fun, while the maps, too, were designed around the new movement options (not to mention how fast and frictionless traversal became). Just like the Wirebugs, however, Palamutes aren’t returning in Wilds. Again, though, the game will have its own version of the feature.

SEIKRETS

Replacing Palamutes in Monster Hunter Wilds are the velociraptor-esque Seikrets- and dare we say, it’s looking like an upgrade. Not only do Seikrets boast greater mobility and agility, they are also capable of gliding. Even more significantly, they will now allow players to carry two weapons that you’ll be able to freely swap between as long as you’re mounted on your Seikret.

FOCUS MODE

A new gameplay mechanic being introduced in Wilds, Focus Mode is promising to add an even greater tactical edge to combat than in past titles. Activating Focus Mode during combat will highlight enemies’ weak points with Scuttleflies, which you will then be able to exploit to your advantage- like when trying to hack off a specific part of a monster, which you do often in Monster Hunter (to say the least). Monsters will also grow visibly wounded, and those wounds, in turn, will become weak points.

MONSTERS

This one’s obvious. Getting to see, fight, and kill a bunch of new monsters is perhaps the biggest attraction of a new Monster Hunter game, and obviously, Wilds is also going to have plenty of beasts that weren’t featured in Rise (or any other Monster Hunter game). That includes the terrifying chain-whip monster Arkveld, the hulking and surprisingly quick Ajarakan, the huge maned quadraped Doshaguma, the overgrown blooming spider-like Lala Barina, the massive t-rex-esque Quematrice, and many more.

MONSTER BEHAVIOUR

You can also expect Monster Hunter Wilds to make continued improvements where monster behaviour is concerned, as every new instalment in the series tries to. Outside of combat, for instance, you can now expect the dynamic between carnivores and herbivores to be more authentic. Many monsters, meanwhile, will also be found moving around in large herds, which is going to be entirely new for the franchise.

MORE BELIEVABLE ECOSYSTEMS

The express purpose of making monsters behave more believably and realistically with every new Monster Hunter instalment is to thoroughly immerse players in their virtual surroundings (at least partly), so yes, of course Wilds is promising enhancements in this area as well. As per Capcom, the game will feature ecosystems that will feel more alive and thriving than ever, with monsters being birthed, building their habitats, nurturing their offspring, hunting each other, and more, all independently of the player’s presence.

WEATHER EFFECTS

Large-scale weather events are perhaps Monster Hunter Wilds’ biggest headlining addition. Each map will oscillate between three states, each bringing sweeping changes to a variety of factors. Different weather states will begin anything from aggressive sandstorm to vibrant vegetation, while monster behaviour will also be significantly impacted. For instance, herbivores will be outnin much greater numbers when weather conditions are favourable, while the more dangerous and vicious beasts will stalk the wilds when conditions worsen. As you might imagine, that will also impact traversal and exploration.

NO MORE RAMPAGES

Monster Hunter Rise introduced Rampages, which were individual tower defense-style missions that would task players with protecting Kamura Village against oncoming hordes of frenzied monsters. Speaking plainly, it was nobody’s favourite part of the game, as is often the case with tower defense sections in non-tower defense games. Luckily for those who agree with that sentiment, Rampages aren’t coming back in Monster Hunter Wilds.

ARACHNOPHOBIA MODE

We’ve seen an increasing number of games offering an arachnophobia mode for the benefit of those who just can’t stand the sight of those eight-legged creepy-crawlies, and Monster Hunter is set to join that list soon. Monster Hunter Wilds will feature an arachnophobia mode, a first for the series, replacing all spider-like creatures in the game with shapeless blobs.

In its updated Platinum Titles list, the publisher confirmed 28.10 million units sold as of December 31st, 2024. It’s over one million units higher since its previous sales milestone (27 million).

Of course, the figure includes Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition, which bundles the base game and its expansion. The former has sold 21.30 million units on its own while Iceborne is at 14.90 million sales. Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Rise has sold 16.70 million, up from 16 million, while its Sunbreak expansion is at 9.40 million sales.

Meanwhile, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has now sold 14 million units, while Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak sits at 8.8 million units sold.

Monster Hunter continues to be Capcom’s biggest seller, to no surprise. Excitement surrounding Monster Hunter Wilds is obviously high, and if the numbers for its recent open beta are anything to go by, the action RPG is going to sell quite well (if we’re putting it mildly) when it releases next year. Until then, however, sales for previous Monster Hunter titles aren’t slowing down either.

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds has sold 27 million units worldwide as of September 30. That’s up from 26.3 million units as of the end of the previous quarter, which means the game sold an additional 700,000 units over the course of the quarter. Keep in mind that that total also includes sales for the Master Edition, which bundles the base game with the Iceborne expansion. Speaking of which, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne now stands at 14 million units sold, up from the previous quarter by 600,000 units.

Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Rise now stands at 16 million units sold. It stood at 15.4 million units previously, and has added 600,000 more sales over the course of the quarter that ended September 30. Its expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, stands at 8.8 million units sold, having sold an additional 400,000 units during the quarter.

Total franchise sales for Monster Hunter are now at 105 million units worldwide across all platforms and all instalments, up from the end of the previous quarter by 2 million units.
