Monster Hunter Wilds - Title Update 4

While Title Update 4 will bring quite a bit of new content to Monster Hunter Wilds when it comes out later this week, PC players are especially in for a great experience thanks to the major strides that Capcom is making in optimising the title. Capcom has now released new comparison videos that showcases the strides it has made in optimising the performance of Monster Hunter Wilds on mid-range hardware.

Both videos show fights between a hunter and various major monsters from the game. One video features a PC running on an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU and an AMD Radeon RX 6600 GPU with 8 GB of VRAM. The other features a PC with an Intel Core i5-10400 CPU and GeForce 2060 Super with 8 GB VRAM. Both videos have the game set to run at 1080p and medium graphics settings with frame generation disabled, while also using the respective upscaling technology—FSR on Performance mode for the former and DLSS on Performance for the latter.

The video compares the performance metrics using Steam’s own built-in graphing tool displaying frame rates and frame when tackling the same hunts in Title Update 3 and then Title Update 4.

These performance improvements have been long-awaited by PC players of Monster Hunter Wilds, since the biggest criticism against the title since its launch earlier this year has revolved around the title’s poor performance even on hardware that matches up to what Capcom has listed as minimum and recommended specs. Higher-end PCs with far more powerful hardware have also been facing issues with the title.

Capcom had revealed some of the new additions to Monster Hunter Wilds through Title Update 4 earlier this month. Along with introducing the first proper Elder Dragon to the monster roster in Wilds with the arrival of Gogmazios, the update will also bring a new Armor Transcendence system that allows players to upgrade their armors even further. Weapons will also see some new features through the Gogma Artian system, which allows players to make use of Artian parts and Gogmazios weapons to get some unique weapons with their own special skills.

Title Update 4 will be the last major content update for Monster Hunter Wilds, but Capcom has also confirmed that the title will continue to get more updates, like the arrival of Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad on December 24, as well as the arrival of Arch-Tempered Arkveld on February 18, 2026. Following this, the developers will likely start focusing more on the inevitable expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds that will expand the story and bring in a new difficulty level—Master Rank.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For more details, check out our review from back when it first came out.
