The new definitive edition release is also currently available at a deep 90 percent discount on Steam.

Developer NeocoreGames has announced that Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr now has a definitive edition release out on PC, following on from the edition’s PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launch late last year. Similar to the console version, the definitive edition aims to bundle all content released for the action RPG since its original launch.

The definitive edition, alongside featuring the base game itself, also features the Prophecy expansion set, as well as all other DLC released for Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr so far, including last year’s release of the Sororitas Class DLC.

To celebrate the release of the definitive edition, NeocoreGames has also announced that Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr Definitive Edition is currently available on PC at a deep discount. Both the base game, as well as the definitive edition releases are discounted to 90 percent, while the Sororitas Class DLC will be available as a separate purchase discounted by 50 percent.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr was originally released on PC back in 2018, and despite its rocky performance and design issues at launch, has seen the release of quite a few updates and new content.

NeocoreGames’ King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is coming to Steam Early Access on January 26th. Originally slated for January 12th, the developer announced the delay in a press release, noting that there were “still a few bumps to iron out.” The early access version sees Sir Mordred venturing across Avalon with a party and undertaking different quests.

As for the full game, it will have over 30 heroes across five classes and hundreds of skills to choose from. Permadeath is in effect, meaning that units that fall in battle are gone for good, so knowing how to manage your resources is key. Along with different skill trees, heroes can also take advantage of different loot to better their abilities.

As for Avalon, players will have 20 story missions and side quests to complete along with over 50 points of interest on the map. There’s a Stronghold to upgrade for different benefits and endgame content in the form of random quests, mythic boss battles and more. King Arthur: Knight’s Tale will be in early access for several months and launch first for PC in early 2021. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players will get it later.

The Agartha Subsector is now open, while Inquisitorial Rank and Item Level caps have also been raised.

NeocoreGames continues to update Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr, its action RPG set in the Warhammer 40K universe. Season 2: Khorne has commenced, and it sees a new enemy faction introduced in the Khorne. Eleven new enemy units, an increased Inquisitorial Rank Cap, and an increased Item Level Cap have also been introduced.

Along with all the cap increases, a new subsector has been opened with Agartha. The minimum power rating is 1500, with two Investigations available for players to undertake. An interesting new mechanic in Season 2 is Blood Tithe, which sees the weather and difficulty change dynamically as more Khorne are killed. Increased weather variety can now be spotted on all maps.

Xbox One and PS4 owners will have to wait till August 28th to play the action RPG.

Though it seemed to be slated for launch yesterday, NeocoreGames and publisher Bigben Interactive have revealed that Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr would be out on August 28th for PS4 and Xbox One, after a small delay. This applies solely to North America, and isn’t the first time the console versions have been delayed.

Currently available for PC, Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr sees players taking on the unclean and wiping them out in the name of the Emperor. You’ll head to the Caligari Sector, which is overrun by the forces of Chaos and other heretics to mete out justice, and can choose from three available classes – Crusader, Assassin and Psyker – with each possessing three variants.

The action RPG has received quite a few updates since launch as part of Neocore’s free post-launch DLC approach. New missions, weekly events and so on have been implemented with numerous bug fixes over the past few months. Those on consoles can also benefit from two-player local co-op, though four-player online support is also available.

The game will also come with two graphical modes.

Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr will be launching with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro enhancements, like most (if not all) games do these days, but while in most cases the Xbox One X version of such games, thanks to its superior hardware, come out on top as the better one, with Martyr, that’s probably not going to be the case.

While speaking with WCCFTech, developers NeocoreGames confirmed that the game will run at a 1440p resolution on both systems, which means that they’re pretty much going to be identical, while it will also come with two graphical options, with one favouring resolution, and the other, called “Balanced”, running “a bit faster”, in the developers’ words.

“You’ll be able to switch between two graphical modes: “Balanced” and “Quality”,” they said. “Quality will look a bit better, Balanced will run probably a bit faster. Depending on what you prefer and what’s your play style. Regarding resolutions, we’ll have PS4 Pro and Xbox One X support with 1440p resolution, but you’ll be able to choose 1080p and 900p as well.”

What “run a bit faster” means, they didn’t go into, but the obvious assumption is that frame-rate will be more of a focus (though why it’s called “balanced” is anyone’s best guess). Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr launches today on PS4 and Xbox One (UPDATE: There’s been a slight delay), over two months after its initial PC launch.

Tumultuous times in Steam Early Access and a delay to console versions aside, NeocoreGames’ Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is now available for PC via Steam. Based on the Warhammer 40K license, it sees players becoming an Inquisitor and heading to the Caligari Sector to purge some scum.

As an action RPG, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr features an open world environment with various missions, cover-based combat and destructible environments. Boss battles are to be expected and players can choose three different classes – the Crusader Inquisitor, Death Cult Assassin and Primaris Psyker – along with three specializations for each class to gain an advantage.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr will also offer expansions and free updates in the future with new terrain, new mission types, new “story-driven investigations” and much more over time. Players can also look forward to large updates in the form of Seasons and Global Events which will bring new challenges. Recent reviews for the game on Steam are currently mixed. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

Last minute technical issues with console versions are to blame.

Unbeknownst to many, NeocoreGames (developer of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing) has been plugging away on Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr. Available on Steam Early Access for PC since August 2017, the isometric action RPG shooter was supposed to release in May 2018 for all platforms.

However, it’s been delayed to June 5th due to technical issues with the console versions. This issue had to be solved at the midnight hour and as a result, the release date candidate couldn’t be sent for manufacturing on time according to an official statement by the developer on Steam.

What’s interesting is that Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr has been facing a number of issues in the PC version as well. Steam user reviews have reported different bugs, graphical glitches and the lackluster gameplay. It’s not all bad news as the PC version will receive extra polish and a beta build update on May 21st. You can take that to be as close to the final product as possible before release.

What are your thoughts on the delay? Let us know in the comments below.

NeocoreGames' next action RPG will be exiting Steam Early Access soon.

Though it’s Steam Early Access reviews are still fairly mixed, especially the most recent ones, Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr now has a release date. The NeocoreGames title (from the team that brought us The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing) will be releasing on May 8th in North America and May 11th for Europe for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

As an action RPG set in the Caligari Sector, Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr features both single-player and multiplayer action. Players will create an Inquisitor and lead them into battle against all manner of monsters and heretics. The latest trailer actually takes a look at the bosses that can be fought along with the traits they bring into battles. Don’t worry though – you’ll have enough firepower at times to hold your own.

Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr currently retails for $49.99 on Steam. Despite the mixed reviews, there have been constant updates and patches from the developer. Free post-launch content is also expected but we’ll have to wait and see what Neocore has in store.

With Sony and Microsoft both looking at launching iterative upgrades on their respective consoles with the PS4 NEO and the Xbox One Scorpio respectively, a new paradigm of console game development is now set to come into play, as the age old notion of console generations begins to blur into a more continuous hardware platform for developers to target.

But that’s not the only change that the PS4 NEO and Xbox One Scorpio will bring to the table, either- you see, with the PS4 NEO being a more conservative upgrade, and Microsoft going all out with the Scorpio, the tables will turn, and Xbox will now be the more powerful platform over PlayStation.

That was the question we decided to ask David Martha of Neocore Games, who has worked on Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr- will the launch of these new consoles give Microsoft a leg up in the graphics and resolution wars that they have been losing ever since the Xbox One and PS4 first launched in 2013?

“At the moment we’d rather refrain from any comparisons between the NEO and the Scorpion,” Martha said. “Each of them is a unique hardware with its distinctive software environment and we are happy to work with both.

He went on to explain that there would be other factors that would define how good (or not) a game went on to look on the PS4 NEO and the Xbox One Scorpio, beyond just their hardware.

“Surely there will be games performing better on NEO, other games would favor the Scorpion, but the bottlenecks are always different during each and every development. Development teams sometimes prefer working on one particular platform or they have more experience with the other, which means that this is a very complex process where the hardware is the foundation of the project, but there are numerous others factors in play as well.”

It actually sounds like a very reasonable answer to me- though of course, software and optimization solutions can only go so far to compensate for a gap in pure hardware power. Just ask Microsoft and the Xbox One, and all the various fixes they’ve tried to bridge the difference and lead the PS4 has over them!

But until we know for sure what the PS4 NEO is, and can thus make an informed assessment on the matter? Any comparison will be, at best, speculative. It’s best to wait until we have more information on hand.

It's only another couple of weeks, though, so chill.

If you were awaiting the launch of Van Helsing: Final Cut, well, prepare to wait a bit more. Just ahead of the game’s official release date, NeoCoreGames has announced that the game will see a slight, minor delay- it will now be launching on October 7 instead.

“It’s a good thing,” NeoCoreGames said. “We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to afford a little more time working on our biggest project yet and we know that it’s the best that we can do for our players too. After all if we call it Final Cut, it must be the final cut.”

NeoCoreGames also confirmed that anyone who already owns the Van Helsing trilogy on either Steam or GoG, or Steam and GoG (even if the games are mixed across the two services) will get the Final Cut for free. That’s not all, either, as even if you do buy the Trilogy after Final Cut has released, you will get Final Cut for free.

That’s pretty swell!
