Following extensive critical acclaim, Hugh and Diana have managed to capture quite a few hearts since the game's release.

Pragmata has been quite a successful new IP from Capcom thanks to its intuitive gameplay, brilliant visuals, and a story that sets things up for a potential follow-up pretty darn well.

Who would’ve thought that exploring a growing bond between a world-weary human and an AI-controlled droid could have turned out the way it did? Well, two million clearly think that there’s something to it, and the game’s sales have showcased a strong reception to its unique premise and innovative combat.

While a chunk of the first million of its sales, made two days after its release, might be attributed to excitement and hype around the release of a new IP from Capcom, the next million is definitely a noteworthy achievement, especially since it doesn’t require hours upon hours of your time. It’s going to be exciting to see where the franchise goes from here.

Short, sweet, and full of personality, Pragmata certainly takes after one of its protagonists, and the gaming world is happy to give it the recognition it deserves. For more details, check out our review, where we gave it a nine out of ten. It’s available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Hugh and Diana’s adventures might only be beginning if you’ve managed to uncover a sort of post-credit scene that’s quite a cliffhanger.

Pragmata wowed us with its gameplay, but the main narrative was no slouch either. It helped that Diana was adorable even though her nature as an android could give her a creepy vibe from time to time. But that was the point. That contrast between her two sides is precisely what her budding friendship with Hugh was aimed at exploring.

Was she a mere machine, created to serve a single purpose with no emotions whatsoever? Or did her autonomy allow her to function as a sentient being, capable of choosing a path for herself? Of course, it’s Hugh who helps her explore her own desires, encouraging her to discover her humanity when anybody else might have assumed there wasn’t anything to find in the first place.

And while the bittersweet conclusion to their story might seem absolute if you didn’t complete all the Unknown Signal challenges, you might be under the impression that Diana made it to Earth with the Dead Filament contained, while Hugh succumbed to his infection. But if you’ve been diligent and unlocked the secret ending, you already know that the developer has left the door open for a reunion, and a potential sequel in the process.

How, you ask? Well, that’s why we’re here. Let’s dive right in!

World-Weary Choices

If you’re worried about spoilers, you might want to come back to this one after you’ve rolled the credits on Pragmata. But if you already got there, you know that Hugh and Diana manage to stop Eight’s misguided effort to bring the Dead Filament to Earth, and even defeat the organism that arose from it. Hugh’s decision to power Diana’s escape pod with the port from his own suit was an emotional sledgehammer, but we’re sure that many of you saw it coming.

He was of the opinion that he didn’t have long anyway thanks to his infection from contact with the Dead Filament, an impression that Diana herself gave him over the course of the story. The same story set up how much he came to care for Diana, making his decision to give her the life she dreamed of all the more logical, while giving the game’s narrative a rather melancholic twist.

But before we get into the “true ending”, and why we think it sets up a sequel very well, we’d like to nudge things away from our protagonists toward Eight, and why she’s an antagonist that matters. Her actions weren’t born out of malice, but rather from a misguided interpretation of Dr. Higgin’s intentions for the Pragmatas. His ill-fated efforts to cure Daisy, his daughter, were the reason for Diana and Eight’s existence.

The two Pragmatas were polar opposites of each other as far as their functions were concerned, with Diana purging the Dead Filament from her system while Eight was designed to collect it from other ones. And with Daisy’s death, Dr. Higgin’s grief and his wish for the world to know his tragic tale became a weight that Eight had to carry while Diana remained none the wiser. Of course, Delphi’s involvement in the whole thing, and its push towards human trials, was the catalyst for the tragedy. The developer certainly likes shady corporations in its stories, doesn’t it?

All of this makes Eight a nuanced villain, with no actual evil intent, but actions that were literally the worst way to achieve a noble goal. She lacked the moral core or the maturity to process grief the way a human would do, making her an interesting contrast to Diana whose time with Hugh awakened her to perspectives and a sort of free will that might otherwise have escaped her grasp.

Of course, Hugh’s sacrifice is the perfect end to his arc, and his gradual shift from a jaded survivor to a caring companion to Diana was among the major draws of the narrative. But it also serves the purpose of giving Diana several routes to take if the story was to continue, as she is now a being who is left to discover her purpose outside of the one that Dr. Higgins intended for her. Hugh never saw her as a replacement to his daughter, but as a being who deserved a chance to find her own way.

Through Hugh, Diana didn’t just gain sentience, but was also given a sort of moral and emotional structure that she could use to exercise it responsibly. And that’s where the true magic of Pragmata’s narrative begins from the standpoint of continuing the story. It’s now time to look at the game’s true ending.

Going Beyond The Credits

Let’s begin with the post-credits scene, and what it could mean if we were looking to future titles. We see Diana finally getting to see a beach, before she looks up at the Moon and says that she’s ready? Ready for what, though? Well, it could mean that she’s ready to start living her own life, free of her duties at The Cradle and her role in it, and potentially free to see what she’s like outside of her bond with Hugh.

It could also mean that she’s ready to carry on Eight’s goals, telling the world about Delphi’s role in events at The Cradle, exposing the existence of the Dead Filament and alerting the world to the threat it carries. It could also mean that she’s ready to return to the Moon to find Hugh, refusing to accept his loss especially if you assume she knows what the Black Box does.

What is the Black Box, though? If you completed the story, all Unknown Signal challenges, got to a 100% across all sectors, did the pod missions in the Hidden Room to get your hands on it, and fought Eight with it equipped, you might already know what’s coming. But if you missed reading the Black Box’s item description, that audio log you unlock after going through all of the hoops we’ve listed might not seem as significant as it is.

That’s because it’s described as a potential way to purge the Dead Filament from organic life forms, similar to what Diana can do. How does that matter to the audio log we spoke of? We know that somebody entered The Shelter, and that friendly bot Cabin confirms that whoever it is entered alone. Cabin knew only Hugh and Diana, which implies that Hugh got to The Shelter with the Black Box in his possession.

And that’s the “true ending”, bringing the implication that Hugh survived, but has no way of returning to the Earth unless an effort to rescue him from The Cradle is underway. That’s an interesting setup for the next Pragmata title, don’t you think? We certainly do, and think that there are several narrative routes for the sequel to take that would stay true to the first game’s emotional core while giving it interesting ways to further explore its nuanced examination of sentience and free will.

Different Roads, Different Destinations

Let’s begin with Diana. She’s now an android-human hybrid, and is on Earth where her existence might have been a secret to most of its populace other than the folks at Delphi. And they may not be too happy with her existence, the knowledge that proof of their actions exists being a catalyst for a game where Delphi tries to capture her for further experimentation or perhaps use her in other ways.

Hugh’s survival could become an emotional core that drives her to return to The Cradle to bring him back to Earth, which becomes the sequel’s new battleground, a stage for an epic confrontation with Delphi where Diana takes the lead with potentially new powers making themselves available to her. It’s equally likely that their story continues on The Cradle, with the Dark Filament perhaps surviving just as Hugh managed to. That would be interesting as Diana’s time on Earth could change the dynamic she has with Hugh. She’d obviously know about his survival in such a scenario, with Cabin being the one to pass on the news to her in some way.

It’s now time to take a look at Hugh. He may still be alive, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely safe. What if the Black Box saved him by using Lunafilament to make him a sort of android himself? That would certainly hold up a mirror to the first game, reversing his equation with Diana. She may be the one to help him find a balance between his human and er, pragmatic sides, and perhaps discover more about the kind of person she would like to be along the way. That would be a great way to carry both their arcs forward while keeping their bond at the very center of a new story.

And then there’s Delphi. The corporation is sure to take measures against the revelation of its involvement in The Cradle’s fiasco, and make it a much larger threat than the Dead Filament. It isn’t too much of a stretch to imagine that it has a sample of it sealed away on Earth, somehow, or that it could discover a way to circumvent Diana’s own defences in an interesting twist on her own ability to hack her way past enemy shields. The Dead Filament’s destruction may have stopped the immediate threat, but we think that the real fight is yet to unfold as far as Pragmata is concerned.

We love that Pragmata’s ending has left so many avenues open for a potential return to the stage. Diana now has what she always wanted, but remains separated from the person who gave her freedom meaning. Her search for her identity is far from over, and while Hugh might think that his part in her story is finished, he might still have a role to play in her journey of self-discovery. Whether he does that as a human or as something else is up in the air, and in a very exciting way.

Pragmata might have ended with Diana looking out at the sea, but if her journey is to continue, it could very well take her back to the Moon, and to the one who made it all possible in the first place. And with the game doing as well as it has, the developer could very well be considering what the next game could bring to the table as we speak.

Perhaps that’s wishful thinking at this point, but we’re might eager to tell you that a sequel has been greenlit sometime in the near future. Until then, Hugh and Diana get some well-deserved rest unless you’ve chosen to dive back in for another playthrough.

This new IP dares to do what a lot of other AAA titles don’t, and the result is a game that has its players unable to put it down.

Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard all about Pragmata being a brand new IP and one that already sold a million copies, a mind bending achievement for a new franchise. We already know its mechanics and gameplay are unique enough to stand out, and that its story and cast are quite memorable parts of the experience it brings to the table. On their own, all of these should be factors when examining why a game has millions of players addicted to what it has to offer.

But in a world where a lot of big releases demand a lot of time and patience from their players, we think Pragmata’s focus on a tight, filler-free experience deserves a look. Is it a facet of the experience that has been a refreshing change of pace for gamers who may not have the time that most modern releases ask of them? Has it been designed to refresh its players with its brevity rather than drain them with needless tedium?

We’re going to answer those questions as we examine how Pragmata’s appeal could be psychological, giving it an edge long before you start a playthrough and join Hugh and Diana on their trip through The Cradle. Let’s get right to it.

The Burden of Expectations

It’s a good idea to look at a few aspects of modern blockbusters before we get into our examination of why Pragmata has bucked the trends that they bring. They bring design habits that seem to want to pad out games with bloated content maps and repetitive progression loops that often feel like they’re there to inflate a game’s runtime.

It’s an effective way to improve a game’s shelf life, no arguments there, but they also come with the expectation that you should “main” the game in question for weeks on end. Unless you’re playing games for a living, that makes playing through these titles a sort of daily habit that you then balance against everything else going on in your life. It’s quite easy for a great game to feel like a chore once the novelty wears off, and you’re forced to sit through hours of content before you get to roll the credits and close out the loop on a title that you were enjoying when you first picked it up.

Value often becomes synonymous with volume, and while that has worked in many cases, it’s proven ineffective in titles that simply don’t have enough meat on them to keep players hooked. Pragmata has now come along to show that games don’t need to be big in scale, but can be big in scope with a core experience that’s just cleaner and tighter. The absence of bloat becomes a calling card in such cases, and Pragmata brings quite an impressive one.

We’d argue that the gaming industry as a whole has created the very conditions that are allowing Pragmata to thrive in the days since its release. It might be a shorter experience than its peers, but that doesn’t mean that it’s light on all the elements that make a modern blockbuster appealing. It’s substantial without being exhausting, the gameplay loop and character-driven narrative working in tandem to have you invested in the adventure.

It’s polished and clean, with enough reason to go off the beaten track while it isn’t overstuffed. Your path to progress in both the story and gameplay is focused, paced with intent to make everything you do feel like a natural extension of its systems. You’re nudged along to new discoveries without the need to forget about the main story, but you’re never obligated to engage with side content in a manner that can often feel forced in other titles.

These sentiments have been common factors in the discourse about the game, showcasing that a formula that goes for spectacle and substance without bloat has all the potential to succeed as another title that’s perhaps a bit more longer with more to do in the world it presents. But as a major release that doesn’t need players to clear their calendars for a few weeks, Pragmata is refreshingly free of the mental load that usually comes with a big release.

But how does a game with a short runtime manage to keep its players coming back for more?

Fast and Focused

Well, that’s quite easy to answer. Pragmata stands out thanks to its cool approach to combat, and it isn’t an easy game to pick up right off the bat. We’ve talked about how it can be a title that lets you show off your PS5 Pro thanks to the RE Engine’s penchant for incredible visuals and performance. But that won’t matter if you’re getting absolutely wrecked by The Cradle’s robot legions now, would it?

Pragmata’s a title that you’re going to want to learn quite well if you want to be good at it. We wouldn’t say it strays too far into ‘git gud’ territory, but managing enemy attacks while you try to sneak past their defenses with Diana’s hacks before you get to dish out some serious damage with Hugh’s guns isn’t a walk in the park. There’s an urgency to its combat that translates to an urgency to get into the groove of things sooner rather than later.

But once you do, it’s a game that you can finish with relative ease. It’s also a game that lets you tailor things to suit your playstyle, providing the scope to let you pad out Hugh and Diana’s loadouts with things that you like to use in the field. Get a build going, and you’re suddenly turning the tables against robots that had you on the backfoot a while ago. It’s approachable without being too easy, and there’s a certain satisfaction you get from making progress in it – a sentiment that’s reflected in user-generated reviews as well as critical insights into the gameplay loop.

Aside from approachability, there’s also the temptation to just keep going. The “just another hour” lie that we’ve trained ourselves to believe becomes a regular occurrence during your time with Pragmata not because you need to grind out upgrades or levels, but because you’re genuinely having a blast with its combat or story. It’s a different sort of addiction that doesn’t have daily things to do in the game for obligatory rewards, or a battle pass that quickly becomes akin to a treadmill that you don’t want to risk stepping away from.

It’s a game whose hook encourages curiosity, and choosing to stay in The Cradle for a while longer than you originally intended is just a natural extension of enjoying a game that gives it to you straight, and expects you to have a blast with it in return. It’s decidedly old-school in its approach, letting its quality and the need to continue playing because you want to become factors that keep you immersed in the experience, hanging out in The Shelter for far longer than you might have in a game that didn’t place a similar emphasis on natural continuation.

We believe that it’s what makes Pragmata a game that could be the beginning of a new approach to game design in a landscape where gamers are increasingly time-sensitive and discerning about the quality of their purchases.

A Refreshing Change From Stagnancy

Pragmata’s ability to keep its players hooked by simply doing what it does best deserves attention not just because it caters to players who want to have a good time without having to spend hours on end in a game. Rather, it has them doing that because they want to. For a modern playerbase that’s short on time and with a limited attention span, it’s a game that feels premium while also positioning itself as less demanding.

Its success since launch is an indicator that there might be more to its addictive potential than just a focused story and some tight gameplay. By daring to be complete, polished, and most importantly finite, Pragmata has demonstrated that there’s a hunger for games that resonate with players by meeting their expectations while limiting what’s expected of them.

You’re still expected to learn the ins and outs of its combat loop, but you don’t have to spend a chunk of your time grinding out upgrades once you do. You’re more than welcome to blaze a path through its story if that’s what you’re interested in, but its side content is compelling enough to get you making detours from time to time. It’s a game that has doubled down on a simple fact: players don’t just expect more content in a game, but want more rhythm from the ones that they’re playing.

In a world where many games can feel like they’re a full-time job, Pragmata has its players hooked because it doesn’t feel like work. It’s a title that’s the perfect way to cap off a long day, and is equally great for a quick session when you decide to take a break from your day job. It’s impossible to put down because it’s the perfect distraction, and one that can hold your attention with content that’s meaningful and executed well.

And that is perhaps its biggest strength. Time will tell if its potential turns out to be transformative enough to bring more games like it, but until then, The Cradle is going to be a place that keeps us all coming back for more for a while yet.

Acquire all eight of the yellow Hacking Nodes in Pragmata using this guide to their properties and locations around The Cradle.

Hacking is a critical aspect of Pragmata and is Diana’s primary contribution to gameplay progression, whether the target is an enemy or the environment itself. Yellow Hacking Nodes enhance this hacking process and are scattered throughout The Cradle, allowing you to collect and deploy them just like you would with weaponry.

This Pragmata guide is a listing of all eight of the yellow Hacking Nodes to be found in The Cradle and their locations by Sector and Block, as well as those that are unlocked from the various Cabin’s Stamp Club boards.

Decode

A hacking node that disrupts enemy internal systems, temporarily increasing damage dealt. Repeated use on the same enemy reduces its effectiveness. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type boosts damage further.

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 Damage ^

Lv. 3 Damage ^ ^

Multihack

A hacking node that links enemies together, opening multiple targets. OPEN time is extended, while damage to affected targets is reduced. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type extends OPEN duration.

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 Max. Targets ^

Lv. 3 Max. Targets ^ ^

Freeze

A hacking node that disrupts enemy actuators, temporarily stopping their movements. Repeated use on the same enemy reduces its effectiveness. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type extends its duration.

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 Enemy Stun Time ^

Lv. 3 Enemy Stun Time ^ ^

Confuse

A hacking node that disrupts enemy visual sensors, causing friendly fire. Effects on bots varies. Repeated use on the same enemy reduces its effectiveness. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type increases friendly fire damage.

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 Friendly Fire Damage ^

Lv. 3 Friendly Fire Damage ^ ^

Expose

A hacking node that exploits enemy weaknesses, making the next hack deal critical damage and more easily stagger the target. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 Critical Damage ^

Lv. 3 Critical Damage ^ ^

Heat

A hacking node that makes enemies overheat more easily. While active, weapons build heat gauge faster. Repeated use on the same enemy reduces its effectiveness. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 Heat Gauge Buildup ^

Lv. 3 Heat Gauge Buildup ^ ^

Drain

A hacking node that uses enemy processing power to boost Hugh’s suit efficiency, restoring a small amount of HP. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type increases recovery.

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 HP Recovery ^

Lv. 3 HP Recovery ^ ^

Chain

A hacking node that manipulates enemy processes, chaining the hacking matrix. Adds bonus damage based on consecutive node uses. Passing through multiple nodes of the same type strengthens its effect.

Lv. 1 Can be equipped at the Tram Terminal

Lv. 2 Node Uses ^

Lv. 3 Node Uses ^ ^

With 210 Upgrade Components to collect in Pragmata, you will not be hurting for this resource when it comes to upgrades for both Hugh and Diana.
Expansive open worlds are great and all, but sometimes, a compelling, linear adventure that's finished in a dozen hours is ideal.

Between killing mechanical dragons, commandeering your own, piloting a mech, skydiving from floating abyssal islands, and finding out that Beloth the Darksworn indeed has hands, Crimson Desert feels like the experience that just keeps giving. Even if you pour over 100 hours into the game, there’s just so much to do, and it doesn’t hurt that the developer keeps adding new features, like new mounts. Later this week, there will be difficulty settings, so you can start a fresh playthrough and challenge yourself like never before.

But what if you’re looking for a break? What if you’re looking out at a grateful Pywel and wanting a vacation from being a good boy scout? As enjoyable as diving into a massive open world like this can be, there’s something to say about taking a vacation and enjoying something that’s, well, the opposite. Maybe I want to navigate something more linear. I could want the opposite of high fantasy intermixed with clockwork machinations. And maybe I want a different puzzle style that doesn’t require a rudimentary knowledge of shogi to pass.

Enter Pragmata, which launched last Friday and is currently at 97 percent “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam, not to mention an 86 Metascore based on a whopping 96 critical reviews. Given how long it’s been in development and the gameplay style, you would think the reception could have gone either way, but no. After Resident Evil Requiem, it is another winner for 2026. More importantly, however, it stresses how you don’t need a main quest that lasts dozens of hours to have fun. In the same vein, you don’t need so many different systems, tons of loot, or a vast open world structure to deliver a compelling single-player experience.

Now, don’t get us wrong. Crimson Desert’s myriad of complexities is one of its biggest strengths. There’s also something about the open world and how it consistently draws you in with discoveries. A cave with some ores to mine and a bandit camp may not immediately ignite the imagination, but discovering a ladder that leads underground into a chamber with various traps that also houses one of the best bows in the game? Or happening upon a massive floating Abyss structure, only to go up against a challenging fire-wielding boss? It’s those discoveries that give us life, and keep us coming back after all the mission dispatches, resource management, research projects, Abyss Gear rolling and min-maxing.

By comparison, Pragmata keeps things relatively simple, right down to the setup. As Hugh, you’re sent to a lunar base called the Cradle to investigate its lack of response. What follows is the discovery of destruction and mass killings by the AI, Idus. After running into an android known as Diana, the story becomes one of survival, from finding a way back to Earth to discovering what went wrong with the station.

There’s more to it than that, but it’s also refreshingly streamlined when it comes to themes of found family, where it’s not about blood but love and compassion. While Crimson Desert occasionally offers somewhat similar familial elements (because how else could anyone tolerate Yann?), Pragmata delves deeper into this. Hugh teaches Diana about humans, families, emotions, and life on Earth as a whole. It goes even further with the ability to talk to her in the Shelter and offer gifts, strengthening their bond (and that’s without getting spoilers about how the themes affect the overall plot). Even coming off all the different references, retcons, conspiracies, and twists in Requiem, it’s refreshing to have a compelling story that’s so laser-focused.

Then there’s the combat. There’s something about having dozens of moves available and chaining them together into stylish combos. Do I need to torture some random shmuck with an RKO into an Angle Slam into an elbow drop? Probably not, but I want to, and Crimson Desert feeds that urge like no other. The fact that there are Damiane and Oongka with their own move sets and dozens of unique gear, each with special abilities, just further allows for an array of fighting styles.

By contrast, Pragmata’s combat is simpler. You only have a handful of weapons, and only two are ever-present. The others break down from use, and no, that’s not foreshadowing at all, what do you mean? But it’s not a straightforward third-person shooter either. Enemies have defenses that must be hacked to expose their weak points, and that’s only possible with Diana’s help. While hacking, players need to navigate a maze, essentially forming a path towards the green goal. Meanwhile, Hugh needs to keep his distance, dodging as best as possible until the hack is complete.

And as disorienting as it may seem at first, it’s actually pretty straightforward once you’re attuned to the controls. Pragmata does mix things up, of course. New nodes will become available while hacking that offer different effects, from dealing more damage to the target to damaging several threats at once. You also need to be mindful of obstacles which can nullify a hack completely. As for Hugh, he can employ tools like a Decoy Generator to distract enemies to the Stasis Net for crowd-controlling enemies and locking them down, making it that much easier to dispatch them. The fact that enemies start adapting to your tactics, requiring the destruction of certain pieces to allow Diana to hack them, also keeps things fresh. So while it has a low-to-mid skill floor, the combat has a deceptively high skill ceiling, one that rewards you as much for your quick puzzle-solving ability as it does for smart repositioning and aim.

I’d be remiss not mentioning the level design. Yes, this is a fairly linear experience, where you’re traveling from one point to another. You’re not going to be discovering multiple ways to tackle the same objective or running through a massive sandbox. Which isn’t to say that the Cradle doesn’t have its share of secrets and detours, but the tight pacing takes prominence among all else. The fact that it can be finished in as little as eight hours and stretched to probably twice as much if you partake in the post-game Unknown Signal Mode means you can have it done and dusted before even hitting the halfway point of Crimson Desert’s campaign.

Of course, they’re completely different games, and the point isn’t to belabor either their flaws (and yes, some would criticize Pragmata’s story length). Instead, it’s to highlight just how great a palate cleanser the latter can be. Sinking dozens of hours into a single game gives you a sense of place, in a way; the fact that you’re immersed makes it that much more depressing to leave when all is said and done.

Yet, that same feeling means it wasn’t for nothing. Pragmata can convey that in a fraction of the time, which takes no small amount of skill, and delivers excellent production values on top. So even if it isn’t your break from Pywel, you can still count on it to lift those spirits and deliver an emotionally satisfying story before embarking on that next big adventure. And in this day and age, with so much media vying for your attention, that’s more than enough.

Capcom's latest action-adventure title is already a stunner but it's going to look even better for PS5 Pro players thanks to PSSR 2.

Capcom’s having quite the year, with Pragmata being the latest success after a new Monster Hunter Stories title and, of course, Resident Evil Requiem.

It’s doing very well for itself as a new IP from the studio, and has already topped a million sales in less than a week since its release. We were very impressed with what it has to offer, and even happier with the fact that it bucks a trend in AAA gaming to make itself a very attractive option indeed.

That isn’t counting the fact that Diana is cute as a button in her interactions with the world-weary Hugh, or that the combat stands out for being a solid balance between challenging and accessible. Throw in the fact that The Cradle is a very visually impressive stage for the adventure, and you’ve got a hit on your hands.

Well, it’s set to look even better than it has on the PS5 Pro with the latest update, allowing it to make use of Upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for a boost to its visuals courtesy of the new and improved upscaling tech from Sony. We didn’t think the game needed any help, thanks to how well it utilizes the Pro’s added firepower, but it’s better than not having it.

Accumulate plenty of Lunafilament and Pure Lunum with this Pragmata guide to their best farming spots and locations respectively.

Lunafilament and Pure Lunum form the basis of Pragmata’s internal economy, and are required for unlocking and upgrading much of the tech tree, including weapons, mods, and hacking nodes. While Lunafilament is fairly abundant, Pure Lunum is a finite resource with very specific locations where it may be found.

This Pragmata guide is all about gathering Lunafilament and Pure Lunum as quickly and efficiently as possible.

How To Farm Lunafilament

Since most enemies drop Lunafilament, farming it should be fairly straightforward. Simply return to the Shelter and back again to respawn them over and over. Your ideal farming run should revolve around the most convenient Station/Escape Hatch that you have unlocked.

Sweeper Bots apparently only respawn when an additional criteria is fulfilled, such as going to a specific spot in the vicinity to trigger the respawn. These can be exploited for large quantities of Lunafilament:

Sector 03 Terra Dome -> Block 02 Eco Modeling Lab -> Meteorology Sim Lab Station. First, proceed up the stairs all the way around to the large observation window overlooking the room below. You should see the Sweeper Bot hovering close to the ceiling, even though it was not present previously. Go back down, leaping over the railing if you want to, and engage it. You can eliminate it almost instantly with Sticky Bombs and hacking. This quick run is worth a thousand Lunafilament. Return to the Shelter, rinse, and repeat.

Another convenient Sweeper Bot can be found in Sector 04 Lunum Mines -> Block 03 Warehouse -> Logistics Management Station.

All 30 Pure Lunum Locations

LOCATION

DIRECTIONS

Sector 01 Solar Power Plant

Block 02 Power Distribution Center, within a chest west of the Sealed Sector Gate Escape Hatch, past the Filament Mass you have to clear using the Lim Eraser, after doubling back from Sector 02.

Sector 02 Mass Production Array

Block 02 Shopping District, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Shopping District south of the Shopping District – Entrance Escape Hatch

Sector 02 Mass Production Array

Block 02 Shopping District, within a chest near the stairs further south of the Red Zone: Shopping District

Sector 02 Mass Production Array

Block 04 Business District, within a chest east of the Office Space Escape Hatch

Sector 02 Mass Production Array

Block 04 Business District, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Business District north-west of the Office Space Escape Hatch

Sector 03 Terra Dome

Block 02 Eco Modeling Lab, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Eco Modeling Lab right next to the Envirolytics Lab Station Escape Hatch

Sector 03 Terra Dome

Block 02 Eco Modeling Lab, within a chest south-west of the Meteorology Sim Lab Station Escape Hatch, past the Filament Mass

Sector 03 Terra Dome

Block 02 Eco Modeling Lab, within a chest west of the Meteorology Sim Lab Station Escape Hatch

Sector 03 Terra Dome

Block 03 Central Hall – Upper Floor, within a chest in the Red Zone: Terra Dome Entrance north-east of the Central Lift – Upper Floor Station Escape Hatch

Sector 03 Terra Dome

Block 04 Soil Research, within a chest east of the GeoScience Lab Station Escape Hatch

Sector 03 Terra Dome

Block 05 Terrarium, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Terrarium south of the Cultivation Lab Station Escape Hatch

Sector 04 Lunum Mines

Block 03 Warehouse, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Warehouse north of the Warehouse Entrance Station Escape Hatch

Sector 04 Lunum Mines

Block 03 Warehouse, within a chest north-west of the Warehouse Entrance Station Escape Hatch

Sector 04 Lunum Mines

Block 04 Main Excavation Site, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Main Excavation Site south of the Logistics Management Station Escape Hatch

Sector 04 Lunum Mines

Block 05 Nexus Tower, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Main Excavation Site south of the Tower Access Point Station Escape Hatch

Sector 06 Central Port

Block 03 Regolith Lab, within a chest north-east of the Research Sector Lobby Station Escape Hatch

Sector 06 Central Port

Block 03 Regolith Lab, within a chest in the Red Zone: Regolith Lab east of the Research Sector Lobby Station Escape Hatch

Sector 06 Central Port

Block 03 Regolith Lab, within the other chest in the Red Zone: Regolith Lab

Sector 06 Central Port

Block 04 Lunafilament Lab, within a chest after completion of the Red Zone: Lunafilament Lab west of the Connect Center Station Escape Hatch

Sector 06 Central Port

Block 04 Lunafilament Lab, within a chest south-east of the Connect Center Station Escape Hatch

Sector 06 Central Port

Block 04 Lunafilament Lab, within a chest east of the Connect Center Station Escape Hatch

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Hidden Chamber

Within a chest of a Sim Pod mission

Those are all 30 of the locations for Pure Lunum as well as how to grind for Lunafilament fast in Pragmata.

Learn how to expand your total mod slot capacity and equip more mods concurrently using this guide for Pragmata.

With just one mod slot available to you at the start of Pragmata, you will be hard pressed to make a tactical decision on exactly which one to equip for combat encounters. Fortunately, you do eventually gain additional mod slots as you slowly progress through the story.

This guide for Pragmata is all about upgrading the number of slots you use for mods.

Unlock The Shelter

A safe haven for Hugh and Diana, this hub location unlocks immediately after the prologue. Once inside, make your way to the Unit Printer terminal which is where you craft or upgrade equipment.

Unit Printer

The majority of options will be unavailable initially, and you will also require a fair amount of Lunafilament or Pure Lunum in order to perform upgrades, which includes everything from weapons and abilities to nodes and mods.

Mod Slot upgrades in particular, will eventually be found under the Attachments tab, which begins with only the Repair Up and Thrusters upgrades available.

‘Additional Mod Slots’ can be maxed out at level four, with each adding one more slot for a cumulative total of five. The option itself will only unlock as you raise the level of your Shelter, so simply progress through the game normally until the blueprints become available.

That is everything there is to know about gaining additional mod slots in Pragmata.

Learn how to find and unlock all forty of the mods available to Hugh in Pragmata using this exhaustive guide.

Slottable mods in Pragmata allow Hugh to take advantage of a number of attack, defense, hacking, and support bonuses in combat. Their locations are scattered across Sectors and Blocks, with a handful rewarded after completing Sim Pod missions in the secret sector, and a few more from the various Cabin’s Stamp Club boards.

This guide is a complete listing of all 40 mods to be discovered or rewarded in Pragmata.
