Despite just being done with Steam’s annual Winter Sale, it is once again time to step into another sale period. The storefront has always been known for its continued sales and once again they will celebrating the Chinese New Year.

As seen below via Steam Database, a leaked email to Steam partners confirm the start and end date of the Lunar New Year Sale 2021. The sale typically highlights games from the Asian region, though not exclusively. It’s also not nearly the size of the Winter sale generally, but there will still be a lot of titles at steep discounts no doubt. While there is a picture of a rat alongside the leak, that is most likely promo art for last year, as 2021 is the Year of the Ox. We’ll probably get some Ox-themed material closer to the start date.

Steam’s Lunar New Year Sale 2021 will begin on February 11th, one day ahead of the official start of the Lunar Year on the 12th. It’s set to last until the 15th of the same month.

With many other companies celebrating the Lunar New Year, it’s the turn of Steam. The Steam Lunar New Year Sale is currently available with discounts across a number of titles. This includes recent releases like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (20 percent off), Red Dead Redemption 2 (20 percent off), Resident Evil 2 (67 percent off), Disco Elysium (20 percent off) and much more.

Along with discounts, there are also Tokens to earn. Logging in each day confers free Tokens and you also earn 100 Tokens for every $1 spent. While these Tokens can be exchanged for a discount in the Lunar Night Market, you can also spend them on seasonal stickers, chat room effects, animated profile backgrounds and more.

The Steam Lunar New Year Sale will end on January 27th at 11 AM PST. So if there’s anything you’ve been looking to pick up – like Kentucky: Route Zero which sees its fifth episode releasing next week – this is your chance. Stay tuned for more details on other deals in the meantime.

If you haven’t picked up anything from the Steam Lunar New Year Sale, then you better act quickly. The sale ends tonight at 10 AM PST and will probably be the last Steam sale until Spring rolls around. Act quickly and avail of great discounts on a majority of games today.

There’s still some time for the Rewards Booth though – it closes on February 12th at 10 AM PST. While it’s not clear if the one-time discount provided for purchases above a certain price will still apply, you can at least earn Tokens until tomorrow. These Tokens can be redeemed for a badge, profile backgrounds, and chat emoticons.

Despite competition from the new Epic Games Store and Discord Store, Steam is still hitting big numbers. In its 2018 review report, Valve confirmed an average of 90 million monthly active users for Steam. There were 47 million daily active users, and a peak of 18.5 million concurrent users.

The latest Steam sale is now live and it’s to celebrate the Lunar New Year. That’s mean discounts on thousands of different games, new and old (though there are a fair number of titles which haven’t been discounted). The Lunar New Year sale will be available until February 19th so act quick.

Among the games on sale are Life is Strange/Before the Storm, Watch Dogs 2, the Divinity series, Nioh: Complete Edition, Undertale, Watch Dogs 2, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, The Evil Within 2, Endless Space 2, Okami HD, Grand Theft Auto 5 and much more. Unfortunately, games like Dandara, Subnautica, Nier: Automata and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are not discounted for whatever reason (besides how new some of them are).

Certain games like The Evil Within 2 are certainly worth checking out because not only was it reviewed positively but recently received a first person option in a free update. It also has a free trial to allow players to get a feel for the gameplay. Check it out here.
