The Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin expansion features new missions with a completely new storyline that takes place after the events of the base game. The story features the titular Dragon King, Bahamut.

The expansion also brings with it new Jobs and a new weapon type. The three new jobs in Trials of the Dragon King are Pilgrim, Evoker, and Summoner. The new weapon type is the staff. The expansion also now allows players to equip accessories, which grant special effects and status improvements.

To cap it all of, Trials of the Dragon King brings with it the new BAHAMUT difficulty mode, which is only accessible after clearing the game’s main storyline.

The Trials of the Dragon King expansion is part of the saeason pass for Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. Future expansions part of the season pass are titled Wanderer of the Rift and Different Future.

As for Trials of the Dragon King, it adds new story missions (which are only available after completing the base game’s story). These focus on Bahamut, the titular Dragon King, and Jack even confronts the Warriors of Light from Final Fantasy 1 along the way. Three new Jobs are also being added – Pilgrim, Evoker and Summoner – along with a new weapon type in Staves.

You can also equip accessories and tackle a new difficulty mode, Bahamut. Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin: Trials of the Dragon King will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC tomorrow. The Season Pass must be purchased to access it since there’s no standalone option.

The biggest addition is, of course, new story missions, while will be accessible after you’ve completed the main story, with a new story focusing on the Dragon King Bahamut, clashes against Warriors of Light, and more. Meanwhile, three new Jobs are also being added to the game. Namely, these are Pilgrim, Evoker, and Summoner.

Staves will also become available as a new weapon type, and with adjustable length and wide sweeping arcs for attacks, will provide unique strategies in combat. Accessories will also become equippable, each offering unique special effects and status improvements. Finally, the DLC will also add a new high difficulty mode called Bahamut, which will become accessible once you’ve finished the game.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin: Trials of the Dragon King will launch on July 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Square Enix has released a teaser for the first of those three DLCs, Trials of the Dragon King, and confirmed that it will be available on July 20. Unfortunately, there’s no way to purchase it separately– you can only get access to it through the aforementioned season pass.

Trials of the Dragon King will new areas, stories, and challenges to the game, along with new jobs, weapons, and accessories, as well as a new category of equipment.
