Tony Hawk revealed this information on voice chat with Twitch streamer andyTHPS while playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.

Since its merger with Blizzard, Vicarious Visions has had a hand in developing the critically-acclaimed remaster of Diablo 2—Diablo 2: Resurrected—back in September 2021. The studio had made name for itself with its work on ports and remakes, going as far back as the Gameboy Advance, where the studio worked on a well-praised port of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, and more recently even the PC version of Destiny 2.

More recently, the studio had worked on the previously-mentioned Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, Diablo 2: Resurrected, and Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy.

Currently, Vicarious Visions—now known as Blizzard Albany—has been working on supporting Blizzard’s games, with Diablo 2: Resurrected being its most recent release. At this point, it’s unlikely that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will ever get made.

Last year saw the triumph return of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise with a remaster of the first two games. Going back was a blast from the past on last gen consoles, and now it’s time for the new shiny systems to get their own native version. Today Activision celebrated with a new launch trailer.

The trailer is pretty similar to the one they released close to the launch of the first versions, which you can see here. They also sprinkle in a little of the praise that original release got, but it’s mostly focused on lots of tricks and skateboarding. While this is focused on the PS5 version, it is also coming to next gen Xbox systems, too, though those with a disc will not have an upgrade path unlike the PS versions. The next gen versions are said to support 1080p/120 FPS and 4K/60 FPS, as well as various features of the PS5 DualSense controller, which you can read more about through here.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. A Switch version is also set to come out sometime later this year.

Nostalgia has emerged as something of a big business for Activision over the last few years with remasters and remakes of some of their older properties being big successes. One of those was last year’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, a remastering of the first two beloved skating titles. Now it seems that more platforms are being teased.

Via Twitter, there’s been something of a fun Twitter chatter. The Tony Hawk official Twitter tweeted out to the official Crash account about hooking them up on some new platforms, in reference to the recent announcement that Crash 4: It’s About Time would be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch in March. Nintendo of America also got in on it with a reply. It’s worth noting that the remaster’s developer, Vicious Visions, is technically no more as they were merged with Blizzard, so whoever is handling these versions would be someone else.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. When or if the game will end up announced for those other platforms, we’ll keep you updated.

Crash Bandicoot is crossing over into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2. No, he’s not a playable skater but in today’s free update, you can customize your Create-A-Skater with 13 new items featuring everyone’s favourite Bandicoot. Check out the short video below for a brief preview.

The update adds a skateboard deck along with three hats and nine shirts. One can also purchase the “Birdman Pack”, created with The Skatepark Project and which features boards from Birdhouse and Powerll-Peralta for $4.99. The proceeds will go towards constructing public skateparts for the youth in underserved areas.

Other features in this update include the ability to replay Tours with different skaters. Goals and Medals will be reset when starting out but any progress made in the current mode will shift to Crew Tours. Create-A-Park, Combo Practice and multiplayer will also get new objectives that provide more XP and currency along with helping to level faster. You can also expect improvements to multiplayer playlists.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 launched earlier this month and the praise has been very positive. Along with being the fastest title in the series to hit one million units sold, it’s also received near-unanimous praise from critics. So much so that an accolades trailer is available. Anyone would have been skeptical of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater being relevant in this day and age, especially following the disaster that was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. However, Vicarious Visions’ Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is a ground-up remake of the first two games which retains all of the tricks, levels and pro skateboarders. It also adds in mechanics from later titles like the Revert, Wall Slam and so on.

Mafia: Definitive Edition

After the Definitive Editions for Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 released with numerous issues, there was concern for Mafia: Definitive Edition especially since it’s a full-fledged remake. Fortunately, Hangar 13 has exhibited true love and care in updating the classic. The graphics have been significantly improved, especially with the new lighting engine; more story sequences have been added; and even the layout between objectives has been redesigned. So if you’ve ever wanted to experience Tommy Angelo’s rise through crime, this is the way to do it.

Several big releases had come and gone throughout September but it took Super Mario 3D All-Stars to finally unseat Marvel’s Avengers from its top spot in Gfk’s UK physical sales charts. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the collection of ports is now the third biggest UK launch of the year with The Last of Us Part 2 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons ahead of it. It’s also the fifth fastest selling Switch title ever in the region and the 15th biggest Nintendo game launch in history.

Marvel’s Avengers only dropped to second place though with sales seeing a decline of 46 percent week-on-week. Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to hold on in third place while Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 went from second to fourth place. The latter saw a decrease in sales by 54 percent week-on-week.

New titles this week included WWE 2K Battlegrounds in sixth place and eFootball PES 2021 Season Update in ninth place. Overall, not a bad week for new releases. Check out the top ten best-selling games in the UK for the week ending September 19th below.

After a glowing critical reception, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 has achieved a significant milestone for the series. According to Activision Blizzard on Twitter, the remake compilation became the fastest game in the franchise to hit one million units sold-through. Considering how popular the original games were, that’s no small feat.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 has been a financial success – in Gfk’s UK physical sales charts, it remained in second place despite stiff competition. If the compilation does well enough, perhaps Vicarious Visions will work on remakes of other titles. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 are pretty well regarded after all, as is Tony Hawk’s Underground 1 and 2.

Despite some strong competition in the past week, Marvel’s Avengers continues to reign in Gfk’s UK physical retail charts. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the live service title saw a 60 percent drop in sales week-on-week. However, it still remains in the number one spot with sales for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 dropping by 54 percent.

Vicarious Visions’ remake of the first two games is still in second place though so it’s doing fairly well. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has gone up to third place while Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning debuts in fourth place. Though sales are one-fourth that of the original game which launched in 2012, digital sales might paint a different picture.

Minecraft Dungeons also debuted in the charts due to a physical version being available. It’s in sixth place with the Switch version accounting for an overwhelming 72 percent of sales. The rest of the top ten remains largely the same, save for Ring Fit Adventure jumping from 16th to 10th place. Check out UK top ten for the week ending September 12th below.

While you won’t find the likes of Spider-Man waiting in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, there are still some interesting characters to unlock. These are Officer Dick, with actor Jack Black lending his likeness, and the Alien who’s, well, an alien. Unlocking Officer Dick means completing the Rags to Riches challenge, which is quite the task.

You essentially need to complete 24 challenges with a Create-A-Skater (other skaters won’t count). Here are all the challenges that must be completed, that too without Game Mods:

• Grindy Grabby – With a Grind Trick and Grab Trick, hit a 30,000 point combo. Manuals and Reverts cannot be used.
• Halfpipe Dream – Using a Grab and Lip trick, hit a 20,000 Point combo. No Specials can be used.
• High Flier – Hit a 15,000 point combo off of the Flying High gap in the Hangar.
• How Stimulating – With at least two Reverts, hit a 45,000 point combo on the Manual Stimulation gap in Philly.
• 3 Moves Down –  Earn a +20,000 points combo with no Specials and with only three moves.
• 4, But Never Fourth – Earn a Gold Medal Score on one of the four Competition Parks.
• 5 and Away – With at least one Revert, hit a +5 move combo. No Grinds, Specials or Flatlands can be used.
• 8 Channel TV – Using 8 non-Special tricks, hit a 40,000 point combo.
• Be Special – With at least one Special, hit a 25+ move combo. No Grind Tricks can be used.
• Goldenrod – Collect a Gold Medal on each Competition Park.
• Grey Was Here – With at least one Manual and Lip Trick, hit a 50,000 point combo on the Grey Grind gap in Roswell.
• Lips ‘n Stuff – With a Revert and one non-Special Lip Trick, hit a 10,000 Point combo.
• Mallway Space – With at least one Grab Trick, hit a 25,000 point combo in the For the Atrium gap in Mall.
• Seasick – In any Classic Goal Park, hit a combo score higher than “Sick”.
• Sicknasty – On all Classic Goal Parks, hit a combo score higher than “Sick”.
• Siiiiiick – On five Classic Parks, hit a combo score higher than “Sick”.
• Up on the Roof – With at least one Grind Trick, hit a 20,000 point combo on the Drop Out Roof gap on School II.
• Poolside Burn – With at least one Grab Trick, hit a 40,000 point combo in the Over Da Pool gap in Burnside.
• Re-Revert – Using at least two Reverts and a Grab Trick, hit a 15,000 point combo. No Grinds or Specials are allowed.
• Salt Flats – On the Flatlands, hit a +15 move combo with only non-Special Flip Tricks.
• Beach Party – With at least one Grind Trick, hit a 35,000 point combo on the All the Way gap at Venice Beach.
• Downtown Dirty – With at least one Lip Trick, hit a 30,000 point combo on the “Dirty Rail” gap in Downtown.
• Gaps, Gaps, Gaps – On any of the Classic Parks, land a gap.
• Go For The Gold – Head to any of the Competition Parks and earn a Gold medal.

Complete all of these challenges for the Rags to Riches challenge and Officer Dick is yours.

How to Unlock the Alien

Unlocking the Alien is slightly easier but involves looking for 19 different alien plushies. There’s one plushy in each level and given how fairly well hidden they are, it’s best to refer to the video guide below. Upgrading your Speed and Ollie stats will help in obtaining them so keep that in mind while hunting.
