After a glowing critical reception, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 has achieved a significant milestone for the series. According to Activision Blizzard on Twitter, the remake compilation became the fastest game in the franchise to hit one million units sold-through. Considering how popular the original games were, that’s no small feat.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 has been a financial success – in Gfk’s UK physical sales charts, it remained in second place despite stiff competition. If the compilation does well enough, perhaps Vicarious Visions will work on remakes of other titles. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 are pretty well regarded after all, as is Tony Hawk’s Underground 1 and 2.
In the meantime, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC (via the Epic Games Store). You can check out our review of it here. Stay tuned for more updates and details, including other sales milestones, in the coming months.
