The Division 2 Developers Are Working On Many Fixes That Are “Directly Based On Player Feedback”

Ubisoft Massive have been keeping a close eye on fan reception.

The Division 2 went through some rough patches in its post-launch period following an excellent base game’s release, but the looter shooter has seen something of turnaround of late with the newest expansion, Warlords of New Yorkwhich has received solid reception from all corners. The expansion brings with it a new map, new story content, improvements to the base game’s gear and progression mechanics, and a new schedule for seasonal content, and the game looks to be getting back on track.

There are still many things that need fixing though, and it seems developers Ubisoft Massive are hard at work on doing just that. Speaking recently to GamingBolt in a post-launch interview about Warlords of New York, associate creative director Yannick Banchereau talked about the same, saying that though reception for the expansion has been great, the developers are not resting on their laurels.

“We’re very happy with the reception from our community and the overwhelming positivity that came with the reveal and then release of the expansion,” Banchereau told GamingBolt. “Of course, you can’t let the honeymoon phase completely take over, so we made sure to immediately jump into feedback mode to address all the things that didn’t connect as well with our players.”

Banchereau told us that there are many things that Massive are currently working on that will look to fix issues directly based on feedback from the players.

“While we’re currently accustoming with working from our homes due to the current there are many things that we are working on already that are directly based on player feedback,” he said. “We’ve received a lot of comments on the overall difficulty of the game, especially at higher difficulty modes, so we’re making sure to address that.”

“We just released an update (TU 8.4) on March 25th that contained a lot of balancing changes to address that specific issue,” he continued. “We’ve also kicked off our first Season, and as you can imagine with a feature that size, there’s a lot of elements that our players would like to see evolve in different directions. With our experience creating this type of content, we’ve been expecting that kind of feedback and made sure to be ready to start addressing those points as soon as the content is out, and our players help us identify what needs to be improved.”

The Division 2 – and its expansion, Warlords of New York – are available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Our full interview with Banchereau will be going live soon, so stay tuned for that.
