The Division 2 Will Have Better End Game, More Content at Launch, and Faster Stream of Content Post Launch

So they want it to be the exact opposite of Destiny 2.

The Division was a bit of a mess at launch, but Ubisoft rallied, pulling through with incredible post launch content that put the game in a position of great strength, that it can hopefully tap into going into the sequel, which is already announced. And indeed, speaking at their investor briefing today, Ubisoft mentioned their aspirations for The Division 2– and it sounds like they want to capitalize on what the first game did right, while also trying to avoid its mistakes.

For instance, they confirmed that they want the game to have more content at launch, instead of launching in the barebones state that the original game did- they specifically confirmed they want a better end game right off the bat this time around. Even after the game has launched, they want post launch content to be delivered at a regular, steady clip- so that players have a reason to stick with the game and remain engaged, and don’t ever have a reason to drop it.

In other words, they want The Division 2 to be the exact opposite of Destiny 2– hopefully, they can achieve it. If they pull it off, The Division 2 could totally supplant Destiny as the premier game of the genre.
