Tom Clancy’s The Division has seen a number of rough bumps since its release but will receive a revamp of sorts with update 1.4 in October. This will change enemy balancing, normalize player skills and abilities to re-emphasize the shooter aspects and new World Tiers to add solo progression.
However, even with its rough patches, The Division remains the number 1 best selling game of 2016 (so far) according to Ubisoft. The publisher cited NPD and Gfk Chart-Track data and noted that August was its sixth leading month in a row as far as “year-to-date” sales are concerned. Market share in the US is 16 percent followed by 14.9 in Europe/Australia and 13 percent in Canada.
Rainbow Six: Siege meanwhile has seen a 40 percent increase in active players since its latest update Skull Rain. Other titles like Watch Dogs 2 in November, For Honor in February 2017 and Ghost Recon Wildlands in March 2017 (not to mention VR titles like Star Trek: Bridge Crew out this Fall), Ubisoft is looking pretty comfortable for the next several months.
